COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A German style wheat ale. Notes of wheat, banana and clove. Unfiltered and hazy. A clean and refreshing amber wheat beer. Based on a world classic beer brewed in Munich.

[Growler] Pours dark hazy reddish-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is loaded with big banana and bubblegum, with a little alcohol and wheat. Taste is similar with cloves, more wheat and some apple notes. Nice mouthfeel, smooth with a long malt-heavy finish. No off-flavors, just a really enjoyable hefe that I’d like to revisit next time it is on at Fitgers.

(growler shared by OSLO, thanks Al!) Pours a very murky, cloudy dark amber with an off-white head that retains well and leaves adequate lacing. Big aroma right off the bat of banana esters, tart wheat, spicy clove, and light bread notes. A classic hefe aroma that showcases the banana esters which do not get quashed by the grainy wheat or lemon peel qualities that lower grade hefes seem to display. My only issue with this beer aromatically is that as it warms the grain starts to edge in on the esters, but if you drink it quick enough, this will pose no problem for you. Flavor follows suit with plenty of banana, bread, snappy clove, and tart wheat that spikes at the finish very crisply, which prompts one to take another drink. Creamy mouthfeel that is also actively carbonated. All in all, an excellently executed example of a classic German Hefe. Well done Fitgers.
