COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgian style golden ale, infused with copious amounts of cranberry. On the sweeter side with a tart dry finish.

What’s not to like about this? It gets better as it warms and reveals more, especially of the cranberry flavor. A mild sourness, a light cherry color, and a roundness complexity from beginning to end. (on tap at brewpub)

[On-tap at Fitgers] Pours hazy reddish-orange with a small, off-white head. Aroma is kind of dusty, with a lot of malt, solid cranberry, light cantaloupe, green grape, and marshmallow notes. A little too malt-driven, and not crazy about its character either. However, the cranberry is integrated well, provides nice tartness, and really saves the beer. Alcohol is very well hidden. Mouthfeel is a little thin, good, lingering finish, though. Overall, I’d love to see this with the cranberry amped up to New Glarus Belgian Red/Raspberry Tart levels, and some brett added to it.

Growler. Pour was deep red and golden with an aroma of sweet cranberries and lightly toasted malt. Flavor was again dominated by the fresh cranberries that had a nice and crisp tartness in the finish. This was a real easy brew to drink, and an enjoyable one.

Pours a golden pink here with light white head. Aroma is very mild, only tart notes I can’t describe. Flavor is mild tartness with notes of coriander. Very subtle flavor overall. Body is light with fair carbonation.

On draught during Winterfest 2009 in St Paul, MN. Pours a hazy reddish caramel colored brew with a thin off-white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, light cranberries, some candi sugar, a hint of banana and some cotton candy. Taste is medium bodied, some caramel with banana esters, light cranberries, candi sugar and a light herbal spice. Finish is semi-sweet at first and then a dry berry aftertaste.

My second beer of the night at Winterfest 2009. This was a bit underwhelming, following the Framboise, but I liked it anyway. Light red color. Aroma has a little yeast and candi sugar. Flavor is just a little sweet, cranberry essence, but not a ton of cranberry flavor. Very low carbonation.
