Dark amber pour with an off-white head from a growler. Nice pine and slight citrus nose. Some malt. Spicy hoppy taste, some malt here too, caramel. Bitter and slightly ashy finish.

Skyview (5696) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 4, 2008
On draught at the brewery brewpub in downtown Duluth, Minnesota. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a thin, fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin film and white ring. Aroma of light caramel malt, plenty of citrus hop character, white pepper, and a touch of orange zest. Taste is medium bodied, some light carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, citrus and grassy hops, with some dry earthy spices. Finish is slightly hoppy with a light caramel malt aftertaste with a long and lingering mild bitterness.

Brown Coloring with Sandy Head. Hop/Spice Aroma. Malt, Grain, Dry Rope, Hops... Very Hempen-y Ale. Good Character.

badgerben (4864) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - MAY 14, 2005
Dark amber color with a thin head. Very grassy aroma (why would that surprise me?). Very spicy grass flavor, like a more pungent saison. Bitter hop finish. A little on the watery side, but still good.

auerbrau (3203) - Ithaca, New York, USA - MAY 6, 2005
Dark burnt brown clear pour, with creamy off-white head. Dominant hops profile that is somewhat reserved, backed with light caramel. A hint of orange, citrus, and floral and some spice and honey in the background. Smooth finish, with sugar and an aftertase of light bitter hops sugars.
