Great Taste. Fitgers put on a nice show, with the Big Rock Imperial Wit being another highlight. This has notes of burnt sugar, honey, Rainier cherry, orange peel, vanilla, and honey. Finish is bourbon and a hint of carameled smoke. Nicely done.

Tap at Winterfest.Lots of caramel and some soured berries. I was chatting with friends and this sat lonely for a while and whence I returned to romance it it had transformed into a ravishing beauty. The oaken notes had suddenly been joined the fruits and caramel to sing a wonderful song.

Rated: 02/11/05. Bourbon Barrel Aged. Nice lacing. Off-white head. Great auburn to mahogany sunburst. Speaks of egg-nog and roast turkey, but backed up by fig and cherry. Extremely creamy, with a nice bright hops finish. Smacks of caramel and cranberries. Dusky, almost a little smoky, like a distant waft of burnt birch bark. Unlike the other Bourbon Barrel aged beer I’ve had at Fitgers, this one didn’t get too sweet or piquant and taste too much like bourbon, instead it mellowed it, added depth, and rounded out with a good crisp oaken texture. Fantastic palate, smooth and cream across the tounge, but bright and sweet as a whole.
