3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
TAP: pale amber pour, pine hop on the nose. Fairly well-balanced, medium-body, and citrus on taste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewpub. This is a very good, textbook APA. It delivers a sturdy malt backdrop, then a slippery, citric hop flourish. A go-to choice. (#5675, 8/29/2014)

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Fitgers Brewhouse in Duluth, MN, pours a hazy golden amber brew with a minimal white head that diminishes to a fine film and slick lacing. Aroma of sweet honey, citrus peel, and powdered sugar. Taste is medium body, some sour citrus, and a grassy pine bitterness. Finish is dry with a slight citrus aftertaste.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Filtered tan-orange body. Steady thin white head. Warming alcohol tones amongst a creamy golden malt backbone. Respectably hopped. Not my favorite style...the high ABV Pale Ale that is. OK.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A light orange color. Bitter, herbal hop flavor. Some citrus. Simple and good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Amber color with a thin head. Holy hops, Batman... hops permeates the aroma and flavor; it overwhelms both. I’m a fan of hops and it was a little too strong on the flowers for me. Very dry finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at the brewpub, keg. Light orange hue with a hint of haziness and wispy white head...grapefruity, lightly herbal nose is assertive, if simple...massive citrusy sourness initially almost overwhelms, but the caramel underpinning keeps the flavors balanced...anise and rosemary appear in the very wet body, which is full but could be a bit more robust to keep up with all that’s happening in the flavors.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On the hoppy end of things, good complexity, cuts spicy food well but leaves its own little tingle. Piney. Plain golden color. (on tap at brewpub)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at GTMW 2014
A reintroduction to Fitgers started with a basic session beer. Buried at its heart is that upper Midwestern niceness that asks for permission before smothering you in hops. Bright and citrusy, this draft exemplifies the typical Fitgers attention to detail.
Aroma / Appearance - A light coppery body shimmers in the bright summer afternoon light. Fluid with just a thin trace of head, the body slowly unfolds with waves of citrusy hops, mellow malts, and an understated nature that feels apt for a beer from Minnesota.
Flavor / Palate - A burst of citrus tickles the tongue. It then explodes with a rich flavor that carries into a crisp finish. A refreshing beer packed with flavor tempts one to stay and get more more pours. If this is a regular draft I will be ordering one when I visit Duluth some day.
