Commercial Description:
Our Belgian style "Wit" beer, which has 50% wheat malt. Orange peel and coriander are added into the final brew to produce a citrus characteristic. The longboard is served unfiltered. Belgians describe their Wit Beers as 'Summer Beers' and serve them with a slice of lemon

Tried as a sampler at the Five Island Brewery. This was the first beer tried and I was surprised to find it to style. Better nose than their Barbeerian, lemon mainly in the taste and a little thin.

On tap at the Five Islands Brewery. Arrived a hazy lemon yellow with a small creamy head which was average lasting. Aroma was of lemon zest coriander, musky wheat and a touch of cinnamon. Flavor was musky wheat, coriander, faint notes of orange peel and a touch of vanilla. Light bodied with lively carbonation, watery texture, slight creamy mouthfeel and a short finish. Quite watery.

Cloudy pale orange with some tight, fine carbonation. Nice wit aroma - crisp and fresh. The orange is distinct on tasting and is quite bitter. The spice seems a little excessive, which is a surprise considering most beers around here tend to be on the conservative side. Very refreshing and a good witbier, and if it was a little lighter it would move up a few notches.
