A full bodied, aromatic Red Rye ale brewed with malted barley, the addition of 20% Rye to the recipe, and with Chinook, Columbus and Simcoe hops. We think the Rye in the recipe gives some dryness and spice, and the hops add a dash of pine and passion fruit, but see what you think, everyone’s taste buds are different. This is an incredibly flavoursome Red Ale, full of lots of interesting tastes and aromas.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’14. Reddish amber with white head. Mid malted beer, fruity sweetness with a hint of graininess then a nicely hopped follow through, fruit cocktail in character. Pretty reasonable in my book.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 11 Apr 2014) Reddish amber colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with red fruit, caramel, toast and rye bread. Malty, fruity taste with notes of red fruit, rye bread, caramel and a sharp resiny bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Possibly not perfectly balanced, but very tasty. Nice one.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Deep copper-red with a small creamy slightly off-white head. Fairly strong in the palate but has an underlying sweetness most notable in the nose and somewhat smooth tasting.

Aroma: High hops, fruity, floral, passion fruit Appearance: Clear copper body. Medium tan head. Good retention. Flavour: Medium-high bitterness, medium sweetness, grassy, floral. bready, spicy (nutmeg), lingering bitterness, passion fruit Palate: Medium-light body, high, creamy carbonation. dry finish. Overall: Again, the high bitterness is not something I would recommend. I enjoy it, bit not something I would give to a noob. 330 ml bottle. Thanks Andre! 10B. American Amber Ale
