Decent if average porter. Plenty of ash, chocolate and coffee flavours, but doesn’t particularly stand out. Some hop bitterness. Some carbonation as expected.

Not to my taste. The thickness and complexity are there, but drowned out hoppy bitterness.

Keg, St Andrews Brew House, Norwich, 02/09/15. Thick filthy tobacco collar on glossy mahogany. Dense wafting flavour layered with dark chocolate, humbug, blueberry and plum. Nose After Eight peppermint, coffee grounds, cigar linger, plummy undertones. Absolutely hallucinatory with flavour after a week of pissy lager.

Keg (St. Andrews Brewhouse, Norwich) (7+:4+:7+:4+:14+=3.6+++++)
Nice black, not even any glints when held up to the light, cappuccino head. Lovely coffee-ey and chocolatey aroma. Rich roasty body, burnt but not astringent at all. Lovely milkiness in the palate. A super stout porter.
