3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma: toasted malts, bread and grain. Appearance: dark brown / black, medium frothy beige head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: toasted malts immediately dominating, sweets continue, light bitters appear towards the dry-ish finish. Overall: decent Dunkel, but below average for this style. Bottle from OddBins, Pimlico.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of light roasted malt, some coffee, slightly ash. Taste slightly too sweet. Little carbonation. Reasonable persistence. Fairly thin and slightly astringent mouthfeel. Seems to be bottled with a short shelf-life. Not a total disaster.

It’s nice to have access to a dark beer in Greece, and there are some good qualities. It particularly comes out in the aroma, which has a chocolate note and some rich malts. These tended to fade away in the flavor for me. The body was medium and the color was rich. Decent though not great. Bottle in Corfu.

This is pretty much the only dark beer you get in lefkada, bottle or otherwise so its score is slighly inflated from the fact I spent an entire week drinking lager which I really don’t like. This is a pretty standard brown beer but in comparison to everything else its excellent.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Look: almost opaque black with red highlights, medium coffee head.
Aroma: black malts, quite toasty, black chocolate, oily (diacetyl?), somewhat flat.
Taste: quite intense, quite roasty - a little acrid even, coffee, chocolate, decent bitterness in the finish, a bit of ashes. A bit too sweet and "simplistic" or unrefined - whatever it means... Still, better than expected from a Greek macro.

While taking in the view of "Little Venice" in Mykonos... Dark amber brown with tan head. Good balance of malt flavors with some dark chocolate notes... Very good.
