This is what I call a perfect match: I’m sitting by the fireplace in my mountain cabin, reading the second book in the series Ravneringene (The Raven Rings), enjoying a beer from Fjellbryggeriet (The Mountain Brewery) called Korp (Raven)! How about that? Anyway, it pours a raven black body with a large, light brown and very long-lived head. It’s a bit of a gusher, but I somehow manage to get most of the beer into my glass. Strong aroma of burnt malt, coffee and ash, with some sweet fruits further behind. Strong flavour that follows the aroma, but with some unfortunate elements of unclean yeast. Fairly light-bodied, dry and with a lively carbonation. A good one that I’ll certainly buy for my next trip up in the mountains! Hopefully my next bottle will have a more reasonable carbonation.

On tap @ Kick. Black body with a good looking, dense beige head. Really nice aroma with roasted dark malt, expresso coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is smooth, sweet, dark roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and moderate bitterness. Fine balanced flavor and body, good aftertaste. Surprisingly well balanced for this low ABV. A great stout it is.
