COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

A finger of shiny brown-shaded blond head, on the darkest brown colored body. Clean dryish, chalky cocoa/coffee nose. Oily mouthfeel, surprisingly full for a 4.6%. Taste clean and rounded, with pleasant coffee/choco tones. Some well integrated bitteringing hops throughout. Complex with good drinkability. Very well crafted. [0.5 l bottle purchased at Meny Oslo City]

50cl bottle at Parkteatret, Oslo. Pours black with a nice and lasting beige head. Aroma of roasted malt with dark fruits and notes of coffee and chocolate. Moderate sweet with nice, roasty flavours, a hint of sourness and a light bitterness. Medium+ body with a fairly average carbonation. Surprisingly pleasant@

Chocolate malt meets and greets the palate after the first sip! Rich body and dark complexities in the taste contributes to making this a very, very good stout. Thumbs up!

Bottle. Very dark brown, fluffy tan head. Cocoa, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Son the sweet side, but elegant and very drinkable.

From a 500ml bottle, picked up at Meny Oslo City. Firm, bubbly, tan-coloured head resting on top of a jet black body. Fragile lacing to the glass. Inviting aroma of dark chocolate and cocoa. Roasted dark malty taste with coffee grounds and herbal hops. Malty bitterness to the ending. Fine bodied. Velvety smooth on the swallow. A tasty, well-made stout (watching World Cup football on TV at my hotel room in Oslo, 20.06.2014).

Bottle. It pours a cute looking black to dark brown body under a small, dense, light tan head that leaves some lacings. The aroma is roasted and lighty bonfire-ish, with some dark chocolate, some dried fruits and a faint coffee touch. Some burnt sour notes too. It’s full to medium-bodied and soft on the palate, dry, with a little sourness. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and some sourish coffee hints in the flavor. After a while there’s some grassyness showing up. Lasting roasted finish. Wow, didn’t expect this. Have had a couple of halfbad experiences with Fjellbryggeriet, but this one’s next to awesome. 140620

Bottle 500ml @ Room, Trondheim Vandrerhjem
Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, chalk, grass and hint of coffee. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

My Bottom Line:
Charred malt roastiness topples timid fruitiness in this lean and dryish dark ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the darkness.
-Malts are poorly developed for the style.
-The finish is lightly herbal.
-This feels like a standard ’dark ale’ passing for a Stout.

Bottle.

Bottle from meny stortorvet kongsberg. Pours black color with a small beige head. A dry stout that smells of coffee and chocolate. Some liqourice. Taste brings it all back. Nice beer.
