Bottle, shared by Rune. An unclear brown beer topped by a small, beige head. Roasted aroma with coffee and some brown sugar. A bit sweet on the palate, with coffee flavor and a pleasant bitterness. Roasted malts too. Mostly roasted finish, with sweetness at too high levels. A decent one, nothing more. 140214

500ml bottle from Meny Oslo City, shared with other ratebeerians at Cunningham’s place. Opaque dark brown pour supported by a fair, fawn-coloured head. Brown candied sweet malts on the nose. More prominent taste profile with mid-sweet roasted brown malts, hints of nuts and caramel. Dusty hops to the ending. Medium to thin bodied. A tad too sweet, otherwise an okay version of the style. My Bottom Line:
Roasted chestnuts and hazelnut caramel join in this nicely effervescent Brown Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the dark brown.
-Hop earthiness concludes each sip.
-Carbonation is prickly and the mouthfeel is lean.
-Drinkability is quite high.

Bottle.

Bottle 500ml @ Cunningham
Pours hazy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, yeast, pine, grass and chocolate. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

My Norwegian rating # 1000. Bottle from Meny Oslo City. Lovely notes of roasted grain. Nuts, malt, coffee and chocolate. Clean and elegant, for a new brewery this is very impressive.

Bottle kindly provided by Kåre, who bought this one in Skien. Batch # 14. Pours very dark brown with a big creamy tanned head. Aroma of nutty malts, liquorice and fruity hops. Taste is light sweet, roasted caramel, smooth & creamy mouthfeel, very nice fruity and herbal hops towards the finish, very good beer, with a delicate mouthfeel, very moreish.

500 ml bootle, batch #2, kindly shared by my beerpal Olav. ABV is 4.6%. Cloudy brown colour, moderate beige head. Nice aroma of lightly toasted malts and fruity (American?) hops. The flavour is not too sweet, and has a nice balance between the nutty malts and the fruity and slightly spicy hops. I like it! A good start from this brand new micro brewery.

Bottled. Opaque reddish brown body. Low beige head, quickly fading to ring of bubbles. Fresh-smelling. Apple fruitiness, rounded gently roasted dark malts, and som fine toffee tones. Light to medium full, slick on the palate. Fresh-tasting, as well. Fully balanced flavors of gently roasted caramel malts, an inviting fruitiness, and just the right amount of bittering hops. A moreish and well crafted Brown Ale.

Appearance: Cloudy brownish color with a frothy tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Malty, fruity and some roasted malt.
Palate: Medium + body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Toffee, malty, fruity and some roasted malt.
Overall impression: My second try with this brewery was far better.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with Rune
