Bottle. A unclear one, deep golden in color and with a dense, finger thick light beige head. Lightly sour aroma, in a nice way, fruity, with some prunes. Medium to full body with a bit high carbonation level, nice though. Rather dry in the mouth, some caramel sweetness and a fine bitterness. Pine cones. Lasting finish. Quite nice this one, easy drinkable too. 141114

0,5 l bottle from Matkroken Stokka. Muddy nut orange with a small light brown head. Yeasty and malty nose with notes of figs, wood and caramel. Pungent sweet, notes of alcohol and a bitterness to balance. Medium to full bodied. Long bittersweet finish. Quite a heavy carbonation. Even an alco warmth to speak of. Unusually strong shop strength beer.

Bottle from Matkroken Natland, Bergen. The second installment in the Ymist series from Fjellbryggeriet; exciting to see what their next move is as the first Ymist had some serious issues from bottle to bottle. Pours a deep murky brown body with a small white head. Aroma is sharp notes of burnt plastic, acetic acid and some bread-like malty tones in the back. Taste is a pretty sickening combo of burnt plastic, acetic acid and fleeting malt-sugar tones in a rather watery body. Medium carbonation, flaccid, watery mouthfeel. Jeez, this is pretty much undrinkable and something has gone very, very wrong. As I pour the remainder of the bottle in the kitchen drain, I pray that the good folks of Fjellbryggeriet seriously subject their beers to a closer quality scrutiny before putting more "experiments" like this on the market. Seriously, have they even tasted this?
