COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: A beer that defies category. A beer inspired by the changing winds of the inlet, with a color as the storms of fall and a mildness as the cool breeze of summer. A light bitterness from the Tettnanger hops and a dark color from the Carafa malt. Enjoy it as a different experience on a normal day. Vingesus is not pasteurized, it is unfiltered and bottle conditioned. Sediment can occur and the beer should be poured gently to avoid sediment in the glass. Brewed with water, malt, hops and yeast. Best served at 8-10 degrees celsius.

Dark marhogny color with a disappearing head. Aroma: Hops, grass, hay, yeast, bread. Pretty complex aroma. Taste: mild but not watery. Sweet, pretty high bitterness, some malt and dark fruits. Ok balance. Low carbonation. I really like this one.

500ml bottle, courtesy Fonefan I think, best before February 2009, tasted in January 2010. Murky red colour. Fruity aroma with some aniseed and caramel. Sweet caramel malt on the palate with spicy, fruity notes in the background. Light tartness on the finish. Judging from my previous experience of Fjordens beers, I doubt it would have been much better fresh. Overall, not bad though. Certainly palatable.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2009 Bottle. I avoided pouring the sediments, the beer presents itselves with a translucent, copper body and an off-white excuse for a head. There’s just enough bubbles to cover half of the surface. The nose is quite sweetish, with evident hay aroma and some roast. It is so thin, it’s almost like drinking water, and the flavor isn’t much to brag about either. There’s some roast and notes of coffee, and it is sweetish with a little sour note and a bitterness towards the end. Drainpour. Rating: 3-2-3-1-6-1.5. (071019)

Bottle. A clear, deep golden beer with a small, off-white head. Some alcohol notes in the aroma, along with some caramel, hops and dried fruits. Alcohol in the flavor too, without the beer feeling warm. Quite bitter flavor with caramel and some fruity notes. Medium to full-bodied and quite dry. Bitterness in the finish. Decent, nothing more, and this time it was drinkable. (090327)
