Bottled version; roasted / toasted malts dominate the aroma and taste of this dark red beer; a slightly sweet mouthfeel and a most agreeable nutty finish.

Full blown porter. Lots of flavour, definitely not a session beer. Lasting roast on the tongue

Very dark ruby in colour. Not masses of flavour. Light, clean and somewhat dry finish.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2012 I have tried this from cask but this review is for the bottled version. Dark porter colour with a red hue in the light. Almost no head when poured frm the bottle - very little carbonation. Aromas of burnt malt and hops are followed by a bitter, quite sour taste - burnt toast lingers on the tongue. I re-rated this as I found the second bottle a lot better than the first I tried - more like the cask version.
