3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CapFlu (3798) - Victoria, - MAY 14, 2004
(750ml bottle) Pours a deep, clear amber. Sour nose of Macs and alcohol. Flavour is initially thin followed by a nail polish and appley flavour. Comparable to a dry, white wine. Very authentic and organic taste. I still like the Verger du Minot Domaine du Minot but this is very good. Thanks Muzzelhatch!

Bottle sampled on 9/15/07: Pours a still dark golden bronze with a thin ring of white head. Aroma of earthy caramely apples with a touch of tartness. Body starts with a good light sweetness and earthy, fresh tartness toward a thinner sweet-tart finish Nicely balanced, smooth and enjoyable.

Poured a clear golden color. Nice leather funk aroma with sweet red apples. The flavor also had leather and red apple skins. Light to medium bodied.

Thanks to notalush for bringing this one out. Deep amber colour, sweet and very appley. Completely still. Fairly tart and has lots of tannic dryness. Fruity with a hint of brown sugar and soft spiciness. Lingering sweet vineous character. It could use a bit more acidity to brighten the nice aromatics on the palate. Still, a good cider.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 beastiefan2k (1921) - Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA - SEP 18, 2007
Notalush brought this to JoeMcPhee’s for CaptainCougar comes to NY. This was actually very nice, we so rarely get a break from the beer with a cider, I think it feel into the flow of the gathering very nicely, thanks Brandon. Pours a completely clear light copper color, A very thick, strong apple aroma mixed with some isopropyl alcohol. Sweet and syrupy. I like it, the alcohol balances the sweetness to make this not seem like a girlie drink. In the taste is sweet apples, some sour, wild characteristic, which is cool. Short aftertaste. Very nice sipping but not heavy cider. Recommended.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 notalush (3744) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 16, 2007
Pale, bronze apple color - barnyard funk aroma, with apple skin tannins - quite a wild, funky, flemish sour flavor, with high acidity, but some over-ripe apple sweetness balancing it - somewhat oily mouthfeel, with an almost apple brandy-like finish - very nice.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Oakes (10191) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 25, 2006
Yellow-gold colour. Woody, leathery, appley aroma. Still body. Slightly oily, slightly malic body with alcohol and apple flavours. The more interesting aromatic elements are not found on the palate, leaving a simple apple and booze two-step.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cletus (6064) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 20, 2006
Pours a coppery color with an initially large rapidly dissipating off white head, smells of tarte baking apples with light cinnamon notes. Tastes of apples with some apple pie spices.
3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 24, 2005
Musty, apple pulp in the aroma with some farmy and minty, herbal notes. Clear, pale, golden coloured body leaves some traces on the sides of the glass. Woody, leafy, sharp yet musty apple flavour that is quite short lived. Medium body is somewhat gritty on the teeth. Feels too restrained for a farmhouse cider and yet not clean enough for a refined product. Cider glass. Fridge temperature up to room temperature. Bottle (Cabot Cheese Outlet, Dec-05).
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 egajdzis (4587) - Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 19, 2004
Bottled in 2002, No. 2180 of 3145... Poured a golden color with no head, and some white bubbles which managed to cling to the glass. Nice aroma of funky barnyard, brett and sweet apple as well. Initially sour and tart, followed by some sweet apple in the taste. This is certainly much better at room temperature, though overall the mouthfeel was thinner than I had hoped for.
