Scent of maltiness and chocolate, with a hint of smoke. Lighter bodied porter, flavors of coffee and malty sweetness with a relatively clean finish. Lighter than I would have liked, but it is serviceable. blipp (1641), Newark, New Jersey, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2008 Pours a near opaque black with an off-white head that dissipates quickly. Not a very complex aroma mostly getting plum, black cherry and a hint of dry roasted grain. ... wait it’s warming up... caramel, raisin, mmmm I could go on. Ok so it smells great. Tastes fantastic too. Not heavy on the mouthfeel and there’s a lively carbonation that excites the palate. At 5ABV this is a great session beer. Oops! So good I forgot to rate it... I find it hard to understand why this is listed as retired as its available and their standard porter. Pours a handsome black with lots of white soapy head. Porter coffee aroma. Medium or less mouthfeel,e asy drinkability, with licorice and coffee grounds and nuttiness in there. Significant roast.
