stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 3, 2006 Bottle. Pours dark with a two finger thick beige head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, slight fruit. Flavor is roast, nutty, clight chocolate, and a slight hoppy bitter finish. Good body, good brew. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Mar 27, 2006 Bottle. Poured a deep black color with a tan head. Coffee and roast aroma with a hoppy background. The flavor was mainly caramel and coffee but had a nutty & chocolate undertone. Medium body with a coffee aftertaste. ratman197 (3137), Arvada, Colorado, USA Mar 23, 2006 330 ml bottle poured a clearvery dark brown with a minimal amber head. Aromas of bitter chocolate, roasted malt, and a bit of licorice. Palate was abit on the thin side, could use more body. Flavors of bakers chocolate, roasted malt and a hint of cola with acrisp, sweet finish. roner77 (35), Portland, Oregon, USA Mar 15, 2006 Dark brown in color with a amberish glow. A beutiful looking beer with a smaller tan creamy head. The flavor is certainly lighter but is certainly wonderful. A very lite sweetness is present with hints of roasted malts and chocolate. Love this one GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Mar 15, 2006 Updated: Feb 11, 2007Dark brown in color with a shallow, semi creamy froth. Aroma of roasted chocolate and leather w/ a slight sour twitch. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Semi dry and malty with flavors of roasted coffee bean, cocoa, leather, and molases. Finsh is long and bittered perfecty. Overall: It’s malty and moderately roasted w/ a nice old world rustic nature. Defined cocoa in the aroma and flavor. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Mar 8, 2006 My bottle says Darwin Brewing, but whatever: Pitch black but entirely ZERO head, ZERO carbonation. Chalky aroma. Odd woody (not in a good way) flavor, oily and milky. Didn’t dig it. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Mar 1, 2006 Nice chocolaty aroma, but a flat see-through brown appearance. Not heavy, but thankfully not as sweet as your average porter, making this an above-average porter, since I find most tough to finsih. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 27, 2006 Bottle. Nice backstory on this one there. Aroms is first dark fruit, then molasses, then barleywincahol. Little tan head, thick brown brew. Damn tasty. Roast barley toast. Malt milkshakes. Manages to be refreshing with its roasts though I do feel a little warming/calorie intake... This is another definition of sessie. A little bit thin bodied, if I have any complaints about it, but you can view that as a proter you could drink into late spring and see it as a good thing...hey! There’s some black licorice in the finish.
