Dark brown with a slight brown head. Chocolate flavors. Roasty and malty. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA Feb 14, 2004 Pours a dark brown with a slight brown head. Wonderful aroma of carmel and chocolate. Roasty malty flavor, not as nice as the aroma. A little thin, but decent. kathouse (84), Nevada, USA Feb 7, 2004 Nice looking beer. Dark brown with a creamy tan head that left nice lacings on the glass. The aroma was light. Some roast malts, some yeast. First taste was very watery and very bitter. I didn't think I was going to finish, but the bitterness faded quickly and left a nice dry palate. Beer improved as it warmed leaving a good roasted flavor behind. Still remained somewhat astringent. kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA Jan 31, 2004 Black body with small, rapidly fading tan head. Roast coffee flavors. Dry, astringent finish. raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 28, 2004 Tastes like a porter, but I've had many better than this. It seems to be almost flat, maybe it's a bad bottle. Don't get me wrong, it's not that bad - it's just not one of the best either. Nice typical dark color, no head at all, nice chocolatey aroma. frylock (998), Buffalo, New York, USA Jan 15, 2004 Dark brown opaque body with a very thin head. Roasy butter toffee and cocoa aroma. Smooth bitter sweet coffee flavors. Plenty of hops in the finish. Decent porter, but doesnt really hit the mark with me. haddon90 (1035), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Jan 13, 2004 Nice roasted aroma. Very impressed from the aroma. Deep dark pour with a slim tan head. Definitely some fruit undertones. Smooth. Some chocolate in the flavor as well. Very complex but quite satisfying!!
