Dry roasty porter, stout-like, with a lingering chocolaty finish. Low in carb, nice and creamy body. This is really quite quaffable - I nearly finished the glass before even thinking of rating it. Flavor is sweet and chocolaty with notes of roasted coffee, honey, carame, ripe dark fruit and some hints of vanilla, smoke and wood. Aroma of toffee, chocolate, peat, dark fruits and spice. Taste is chocolate, light smoke, peat. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. The hint of smoke and peat flavors give provides convincing evidence of its sunken ship origins.
