Sledge Jr (2702), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 30, 2008 At the Hy Vee CB Stout & Porter tasting. Dark sepia brown in color with a thin ecru-colored head. There’s alcohol and toffee to the aroma. Also strong burnt roastedness. Really good lacing. Astringent finish. Slight bit of heat. Strong nuttiness. Bitterness to the sides of the tongue with residual dryness at the end. A true porter.
Lowe1983 (730), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Jul 7, 2008 Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate, molasses, slight coffee, and roasted malts. Flavor is pretty light with everything I expected from the aroma. This would be a pretty good session beer. jzzbassman (672), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Jul 7, 2008 Ruby colored with a nice coffee and malty aroma. Flavor is thin bodied and tamer than I expected from the aroma. jjpm74 (2760), Connecticut, USA Jul 5, 2008 I’ve been wanting to try this beer for a while and finally stumbled across it at a grocery store in MA of all places. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells of chocolate, coffee, roasty, some peppery splashes. Tastes slightly bitter with some sweet milk chocolate and full bodied. The malt profile is a bit disappointing on this one. I was hoping for some lactic hints and some burnt molasses, neither of which are present in this beer. astrofrk (27), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 27, 2008 Flag Porter 1825

The Origional Porter! lithy (86), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 19, 2008 Nice black pour with a thin tan head. Roasty malt in the nose and a very tame (traditional) taste of roasted malt and hints of chocolate bitterness in the finish.
