15/IV/15 - 33cl bottle @ Cap Africa (Brussels, Matonge area) - BB: 4/VIII/15 (2015-443)
Clear pale blond beer, small irregular white head, unstable, non adhesive, dissipates immediately. Aroma: sweet, malty, corn syrup. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: malty start, bit sweet, some citrus, pretty hoppy. Aftertaste: little bitter, sweet malty touch, some corn, bit grassy in the finish. Not too bad, all together.

In a Senegalese restaurant in Paris: bottle said that this is brewed in Togo. Anyway pours pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is light grain. Taste is slightly bitter. Very light and a bit sweet. Not bad. Easy drinking.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a clear golden color, topped with a small and quickly disappearing white head.
There is slight skunk right after opening, later some malty aroma.
A slightly sweet start, balanced body, some bitterness in the finish. Metallic feel in the aftertaste.
Drinkable and not that bad at all.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle (330 ml). My 2nd Flag Speciale after the one from Ivory Coast. Clear golden with a small persistent white head and some lacing. Aroma is grainy with sweetness, metallic notes and vegetables. Taste is moderately sweet with grains, vegetables, metallic notes and mild floral notes. Weak body. Moderate carbonation. Sticky finish. I don’t remember much about the one from Ivory Coast, but my rating is similar so they are quite consistent wherever they produce this one. Not very good, even for a Pale Lager and/or a country tick.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Clear yellow with decent lasting white foam head. Looks bit carbonated. Aroma is barley, so is taste. Bit sweet. Not the best beer, but I guess when you drink it in contry it is much better. (Paris 201402)
