Dark amber ale. Uninteresting aroma but tingle pallet and smooth flavor. Consider drinking with sweets!

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a ruby brown color. Very thin head that left no lacing. Malty aroma. Taste is malty, nutty and finishes with the perfect amount of bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to StFun! Dark amber pour, small ring of carbonation and an aroma of malt and a little nuts. Flavor is strong raisin, some brown sugar, black cherry peels and some chocolate on the finish. Interesting flavor for an amber for sure, and definitely worth looking for.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours deep amber red. Head is moderate then fades to an off white soapy film. The aroma didn’t come off at strong overall like I expected/hoped but did lend mild flowery and pleasant citrus note with some additional light dark caramel and medium toffee like malt sweetness that adds to the mild hop character and helps it come off as fruity. Flavor lends sweet nutty, toffee, and fresh bready malt flavors backed with, again, light flowery and citrus hops. Sweet malt flavors then finishes dry. Hop bitterness is medium light. Solid drinkable beer.

8/11/12. GTMW - labeled as "Hello My Name is Amber," but based on the stats, this has got to be it. Hoppy aroma with nuttiness, citrus, and earthiness. Malt comes through even more in the flavor with some chocolate and nuttiness underneath the vibrant hoppiness. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Brigadier...thanks Nathan! - Pours dark brown with a thin light tan head. Nutty, dry dark bread malt on the nose, with a bit of metal when it’s cold. Taste is the same, with the nuttiness dialed back a bit and light sweet creamy milkiness. Pretty pleasant, though the aftertaste is a bit chalky. Pretty smooth and creamy...nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Buttery caramel malt aroma. Amber with a small tan head. Caramel malt, a little diacetyl, and big grapefruit peel hops flavor.Medium body, low carbonation. I found the hops a little harsh, and would have preferred more malt balance.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear dark amber with a nice off-white head and horizontal streaks of lace. The BIG flavor makes this work: a lot of malt infused with caramel, along with a strong burst of hops that try, but don’t succeed, in taking over. The finish has sweetness in the mouth, but only bitter on the tongue. Quite nice.

3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark, hazed, amber-brown with a quick tan head.
Scent is faint.....caramel malt
Taste is bitter, woody.
Flavours are mostly overshadowed by the hops...dry.....
A bit one-sided.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2012 Ok, so i rated this some time ago. It was the first day’s release of this beer. Maybe my buds of tasting were off, maybe i was sick, or maybe someone choked me to death and some guy put the review up in my stead. Anywho...
so this is a pretty good beer. It is a little more bitter than most ambers I’ve tried, but that is good for me. The more hop flavor, the better. "hoppiness is happiness" as hop wallop says. Anyways, I didn’t think the hops were so overbearing that I thought of that mother who’s always there over the shoulder..instead i thought of fields of grassy herbal concoctions reaching my tummy. Try this, on tap (best) or in bottle (still very good).
