Draft/growler. Salty cucumber aroma. Medium yellow with minimal head. Sweet-salty cucumber and light malt flavor. Lightly bitter finish. Very pleasant.

Intense cucumber smell and taste. It is pleasant by all means but not something I would want much of.

Bottle: Pours a clean straw hue with a mostly lasting frothy head. The aroma has notes of cucumber, wet grains, DMS, mineral water. The taste is displays a nice cucumber character but the pronounced cooked veggie notes of the DMS is a bit much and distracts. Grainy and not all that clean, it is refreshing on a hot summer day however. The 1st time I tried this I didnít notice the DMS overtones as much as today. Guess that is what happens when you add vegetable to a beer style that does often have a vegetable note already.

TheAlum (5575) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - JUL 6, 2013
Draft on tap at the brewery (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a richer pale straw hue, gentle dulled body and haze, a touch of yellow glow. Frothy bright white head atop dies to a filmy layer, laces small. Aromas firm green garden, cool cucumber, and gentle bready malt. A more dominant earthy cool cucumber, gentle green pepper, mellow earthy hops. Initial is lighter end of the fold, bigger cucumber elements, green, cool, refreshing. A touch of earth, bready and grainy malt bill. Fairly clean. Middle is more cucumber, touch of citrus, bready and straw malt feel, bit of grass, dough. Backend is cool, a bit bready, doughy. Mellow sweetness mixes with a sustained cucumber feel, bit of fruity apple, lemon. Some drynessn lingering cool cucumber finish. Unique and refreshing experiment. I enjoyed it but donít see me drinking a ton. Ok. Nose is unreal, potent.

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent gold with foamy white head. Smells solid; doughy with a nice cucumber presence. Tastes like it smells, but the cucumber comes across a little stronger. Average on the palate. A decent take on the style, but the cucumber flavor could be a little subtler.

I get the "cucumber" part, because it has a lot of cucumber character to it. Itís the "kolsch" part that seems weird. Nice assertive cucumber aroma and flavor, and a hint of malty sweetness. There is also a hint of hop bite at the end which is kind of unexpected but nice. I enjoyed this probably way more than I should have.

thedm (4927) - Fort Wayne, USA - DEC 25, 2012
This draft brew from a beer festival poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a uncarbonated transparent weak yellow colored body. The mild aroma was malt hop. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The strong cucumber flavor was different and unusual. Not one that I would likely drink again.

On tap at Yogiís, Bloomington. Bright golden pour, plenty of crisp carbonation. Cuke is pretty strong in the nose, mild grain underneath. Light palate, crisp and session able throughout. I certainly enjoy the cucumber infusion just fine, but it seems to obscure the kolsch rather than enhance it. And from what I can tell itís a pretty bland base. Good twist on a quaffer though.

On tap. Clear golden with a small covering of creamy bubbles. Nose is fresh cut cucumber. Tastes of cucumber with hints of honey-toasted grain and grass. Light-medium body has average carbonation and is to the sweet side. I appreciate the art that went into this, and itís everything you would expect from the name, but it would be much better with some subtlety about the cucumber. Still not nearly as bad as the cheap Mexican lager with a Jalapeno sitting in it.

tap at OktoBeerfest - Hey, a cucumber is technically a fruit. I guess we think of it as a vegetable so this could be put under spice/herbal/vegetable. Anyway, this beer pours hazy yellow and a little green with a small dense white head that lingers. It definitely smells like a cucumber. It tastes mild and sweet with the cucumber in the forefront. Light bodied and with a little bitterness in the finish, this beer is really odd.
