COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When Fall rolls around, so does Jack. Provided he stays away from marauding trick-or-treaters, this bright orange gourd-like squash from the genus curcubita (Thanks Wikipedia!) finds his way into the mash of this Flat12 seasonal pale ale. A special blend of Indian(a) spices and pumpkin shine through just enough to complement this slightly sweet and malty tribute to the season of hayrides and bonfires. Flat out fantastic.

dear lord. I had had this on tap and thought it was pretty good. Then I found it in bottle form and thought "itís fall, I ought to get a seasonal appropriate beer" and it fell into my hand. On tap it was delicious (from a bullet over 3 weeks ago {give or take}) but I canít remember much else. In bottles, though, i feel like it tastes better than on tap. It is a sweet beer that creates an incredible head. This, however, leads to an over approximation in the mouth. It felt like i was drinking slightly flat soda, that is to say, it was more bubbly than other beers I have had, but not enough that i thought I should see íShastaí on the label. Drinking/smelling this brings me to November, with the family gathered to drink a toast to everything that is going or is hoped to go well. I sincerely smell that pie in the oven as dinner progresses. These guys make a Glazed Ham Porter as well and if I had the opportunity, I could have just drank my Thanksgiving meal away (and who doesnít want to do that?)

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Let me just start by saying that this has probably my favorite beer label of all time, (cartoon zombie stabbing an evil looking pumpkin). Pours an amber orange with a HUGE white head initially. I had to pour this in 3 shifts because it kept foaming up so high. Head fades into a thin layer of bubbles fairly quickly though leaving a lot of lacing. Aroma is just as huge with a whole lot of nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin, and spices. Taste is very pumpkin pie-ish! A lot of cinnamon and vanilla (a nice surprise!) up front with the nutmeg, pumpkin, malts and spices coming though afterwards. Finish is slightly dry with a very nice toasty bread flavor coming through. Excellent balance with the flavor! There is a lot of flavor here, but nothing comes through as overwhelming. Medium body, slightly thick and creamy with low carbonation and a nice, long finish. Overall this is certainly one of the better pumpkin ales I have tried this season. Would go well with pumpkin pie, but also seems to go quite well with chocolate halloween candy, as I am finding out! Well done, Flat 12! Yet another reason why Indianapolis should be considered a craft beer mecca!

12 ounce bottle. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a light golden/orange color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention is good, and thereís a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like pumpkin (or should I say Indian(a)) spices, pumpkin, and some sweet malt. I think the taste is just like the aroma, itís all pumpkin, pumpkin spices and sweet malt. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, itís a bit slick, smooth and easy to drink. I liked this pumpkin ale, I wouldnít mind buying some more the next time I come across it. $10.99 a 6-pack.

Bullet brought back by a friend. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Huge spice aroma consisting of cinnamon, ginger and clove along with malt. Ginger and cinnamon flavor with some malt before a spicy finish.

Wasnít expecting much based on the rating. This was definitely a pleasant suprise. Extra from olr...Thanks, Omar! Gusher of a pour. Head becomes pillowy with tons of lacing. Clear orange golden. Pumpkin spice nose and some white wine tartness on the nose. Zippy with some pumpkin flesh and some earthy pumpkin spice, but predominantly a very tart green apple malic finish. This could be infected, but if it is itís in a good way. Sour heads I know would love this. Not acetic at all. Hmmm...Iím going to rate this based on the assumption itís suppossed to be this way, just cause Iím digging it. My kind of pumpkin beer...not sweet and not overspiced. Proceed with caution.

Great local beer. Lots of pumpkin cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste just like a pumpkin pie

Overall, a decent pumpkin, but not in the league of Schlafly and Shipyard Pugsley.

Bottle. Nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin aroma. Golden yellow with giant head. Mildly sweet nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin malt and mildly bitter herbal hops flavor. Tasty.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of queenholly. I was in Indianapolis last year and didnít get a chance to get by Flat 12, so Iím glad to try this. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a huge foamy off-white head. It seemed like it was on the verge of being a gusher. Nice aroma, sweet and toasted pumpkin notes with pumpkin spice, pumpkin seed and a faint touch of bitterness. The taste is big pumpkin spice, some toasted notes and a spicy finish. Medium bodied, lingering spice and very high carbonation. Overcarbonated, but still nice.

Woah, pour this one slow friends! Poured about 4 oz in my pint glass and the head came right up to the top! Big big orange and spicy nose. Flavorful with a nice balance of pumpkin, spice and hops. Quite good, though over carbonated!
