COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Half Cycle is so named due to its marriage of single and double IPA characteristics. In baseball parlance, a single and double is half of “the cycle”, and this IPA is a heavy hitter. It’s a single IPA, hopped like a double, with an over-the-top hop character that’s a bit spicy, citrusy, piney, you make the call. Light in color, but not on flavor, this big boy is dry hopped with a pound of high alpha American hops in every barrel. ABV: 6% IBU: 104.1

Bottle courtesy of bmoosey - pours dirty brown with a small head. I could tell pretty quick that it was going to have an earthy hop aroma and taste. Has a biscuit and nut taste to it. Medium slick mouthfeel. Not too dry.

Sampled at DLD 2014. It poured an amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of pine and light citrus. The taste was of pine with a caramel backend and a medium body with medium bitterness. Nice.

(can - 16 oz) Clear orange with a white head. Mild citrus and bitter hop aroma. Flavor is much the same. Very mild with a hint of citrus and a very lightly bitter finish.

Bronzed body and a fluffy head. This one whips the nose with a sharp grapefruit aroma that veers catty at points. The body continues this pungence with grapefruit blasts and notes of overripe fruit that begin to grow distasteful, then recede and become more palatable. Waves of flavor. Acerbic finish.

Golden, half finger white head. Sweet and somewhat grassy aroma. Flavor is sweet and harshly bitter without much else.

Lighter body, massive head. Bitter aroma, sweet, slightly metallic. Piney hops up front, green tea, earthy, resiny. Medium body. Older can maybe?

Golden pour with a white head. Aromas of citrus and pine. Flavor is similar with a nice hoppy bite to it on the finish. I didn;t think it was quite as hoppy as the description implied but still respectable. I enjoyed it,

Bought a 6 on a trip to Indy, this is a nice "lighter" IPA. Very drinkable with solid IPA characteristics. Overall a good find.

Can from StFun. Thanks! Pours orange-gold with a small off-white head. The aroma has some nice fruity notes of pineapple and oranges, as well as doughy malt, and resinous hops. The flavor has this toasty cracker malt to it that’s quickly noted. The hops definitely initially tilt more reinous/pine than the fruity character picked up in the scent. It’s not until after it sits a few minutes does any citrus flavor come out. This is sharp and bitter in the mouth. High on substance and bitterness; packs a punch for a mere 6%, but lacks some depth. I keep thinking I’m actually tasting bitterness. Obviously that’s an exaggeration but I wouldn’t mind more subtle nuances here. An enjoyable IPA nonetheless.
