COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Half Cycle is so named due to its marriage of single and double IPA characteristics. In baseball parlance, a single and double is half of “the cycle”, and this IPA is a heavy hitter. It’s a single IPA, hopped like a double, with an over-the-top hop character that’s a bit spicy, citrusy, piney, you make the call. Light in color, but not on flavor, this big boy is dry hopped with a pound of high alpha American hops in every barrel. ABV: 6% IBU: 104.1

This poured an orange color with a beige head. Aroma is rather intense with lots of pine, perfume, orange peels, grapefruit, and herbal notes. The flavor is pretty darn bitter with more citrus showing up and a hint of caramel. The aftertaste is like chewing on a pine tree, sucking a lemon, and letting an asprin dissolve on your tongue. Holy crap. Overall not for the faint of heart or hop. Not one to hand to your buddy who likes Bud Light, unless you secretly hate him.

12 oz bottle. (Jungle Jim’s) Fairfield, OH.
Clear golden colour with a small white head. Aroma: wood, pine, hops and nice bitterness. Delicious! Flavour: very nice bitterness, hops, pine and sweet malt. Very tasty, very fresh!

Poured a light orange with an off white head. Aroma was lots of orange, grapefruit and mild caramel. Flavor was juicier than expecting, orangey and pinstripes with mild malt backing Decent.

Nearly clear copper amber with a too-big 3-4" head, sheets and swirls of lace. Taste is a terrific balance between caramel malt and cleansing hops. The info says 104 ibu, and I respond: no way! The hops are clearly present, but never dominate the malt. For me, balance is the goal, and this IPA does that beautifully. Highly recommended.

Deep golden color out of the bottle with a foamy white head. Strong orange and other citrus hop nose. This is a sharp, pinching hop centered beer. Lots of grapefruit rind, peach, apple over a firm home made bread malt backbone. This has a long, dry grapefruit zest finish. I like a big, pinching hoppy beer, and this is one of those.

On tap at Detour. Pours a golden amber with a small white head. The aroma is pleasant, hoppy, floral, and fruity with notes of citrus and orange. The taste is hoppy, fruity, with a moderate bitterness. Nice middle of the road IPA.

Clear gold with a white head. The aroma has earthy hops and faint leathery notes. It has a medium body with oily texture and average carbonation. The taste is moderately bitter, but a little bland.

Bottle. Hazy golden color. Explosive, massive head. Taste was a strong dry hop taste. Aroma is what one would expect from an ipa, citrus and source.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a hazy orange with foamy white head. Smells and tastes solid; a nice hop profile with a medium-bodied pale malt backbone. Nice and smooth on the palate. Good beer.

Draft pours clear gold. Nose cat pee and pine. Taste strong bitter up front, some fruity sweet malt, long bitter finish.
