The Half Cycle is so named due to its marriage of single and double IPA characteristics. In baseball parlance, a single and double is half of “the cycle”, and this IPA is a heavy hitter. It’s a single IPA, hopped like a double, with an over-the-top hop character that’s a bit spicy, citrusy, piney, you make the call. Light in color, but not on flavor, this big boy is dry hopped with a pound of high alpha American hops in every barrel. ABV: 6% IBU: 104.1

Clear gold with a white head. The aroma has earthy hops and faint leathery notes. It has a medium body with oily texture and average carbonation. The taste is moderately bitter, but a little bland.

Bottle. Hazy golden color. Explosive, massive head. Taste was a strong dry hop taste. Aroma is what one would expect from an ipa, citrus and source.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a hazy orange with foamy white head. Smells and tastes solid; a nice hop profile with a medium-bodied pale malt backbone. Nice and smooth on the palate. Good beer.

Sampled at esbls. A big gushing head. A big bitter blast and a different one. Onions, pine, citrus. Big malts are pale. Not a favorite.

Pours well and to a darker amber color. Head retention OK. Aroma is of typical IPA hoppiness with caramel and honey undertones. Taste is an overpowering acrid hop bitterness with a slightly sticky mouth feel. Aftertaste has a notable aspirin flavor.

Nice easy drinking IPA with some smoke and resin. This beer pours nice and light with very little head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is very light. I think a pine tree with some citrus fruit on the branches just walked past me, but I can’t be sure. My first taste suggests smoke in this beer. Good smoke and hops with a clean finish. Pretty good. I was thinking about the rating the entire time I was drinking it, but I was enjoying drinking it so much that I didn’t rate it until the end of the glass.

Amber color with a slight head. Citrus aroma. Piney taste with citrus notes. Big hops in the finish. Just what a hophead is looking for!

12oz bottle poured into glass. Citrusy notes with pine. Very subtle malt with heavy dry hopped characteristics. Clean finish. Overall a very nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy medium copper with a thin half finger white head which slowly fades to just a thin ring around the edge of the glass. Aroma of mango, pineapple, and tangerine is awesome. Some light pine underneath along with caramel malt but it is nearly all tropical fruit. The dry hopping really stands out in the nose and it is wonderful. The flavor provides a huge citrus punch that was alluded to in the aroma. There is a little more malt this time with biscuit and caramel along with a high bitterness that comes close to, but does not exceed, being too much. The hop flavor fades midway through but the malt and bitterness continues on for quite awhile. Overall, a really well-done beer from a brewery that I have never heard of and just appeared in my area. I’m looking forward to trying some of their other offerings.
