COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Half Cycle is so named due to its marriage of single and double IPA characteristics. In baseball parlance, a single and double is half of “the cycle”, and this IPA is a heavy hitter. It’s a single IPA, hopped like a double, with an over-the-top hop character that’s a bit spicy, citrusy, piney, you make the call. Light in color, but not on flavor, this big boy is dry hopped with a pound of high alpha American hops in every barrel. ABV: 6% IBU: 104.1

Sample at Twenty Tap in Indianapolis. The beer is a clear copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Short stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and pine. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, citrus and earthy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a resiny hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

(draught) clear gold, ring of white bubbles. Nose of biscuit, orange and rind, caramel. Taste of caramel, pine, high alpha acids, buttery, and citrus rind oils. Buttery body and nice linger.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear light orange with a thick white head. Aroma of grassy hops, garlicky hops, pot. Flavor features lots of hops, super hoppy with those 104 ibus, mostly of the grassy variety. Great IPA! 8/4/8/4/14 (3.8/5)

Flat 12 is no joke. These guys are really onto something here. The Half Cycle IPA is another hopped up beer that is bold but balanced. Pour is darkish copper gold but textured right. Not too thick or obscenely sticky. Lovely nose. Could smell this all day. Hops, earth, spice, rich malt. It’s all there. Complex as hell. Rolls on and on and on. Nice palate. Refreshing. Fresh clean bitter yummy finish. Bingo!

Pours light copper color with white head and average lacing. Aromas of grapefruit and citrus with spices. Taste is light bitter at first, the progresses to a nice bite on the back end. Finish is long and dry. Overall, this is a decent brew with the hops pounding through from beginning to end. The bitterness is definitely there. Good job.

Tap. Strong pine hops and light malt aroma. Cloudy pale yellow color with small head. Slightly sweet orange malt flavor initially followed by a strong bitter pin hops finish. Tasty.

My favorite beer of theirs. Nice hops flavor with high IBUs. Good balance with the malts and ends with a great bitterness.

I went to Flat 12 with low expectations and came away blown away. IPAs are my passion and they definitely understand hoppy beers. This one pours a great golden color with a very frothy head. Aroma is pine, citrus, and cannabis and the taste is very similar. Not sure where the other reviewer noted onion - maybe an off batch? Has a nice bite and long, lingering bitterness that hangs around in your teeth. If Flat 12 has future plans for bottling, I hope this is first in line.

Tap sample at KFOA. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy resin hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Sampled at DLD. Pours golden amber with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is of pine needles, lemons, grapefruit. Flavor is very fruity with notes of grapes, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, etc. Texture has a resin feel to it but finishes smooth and bitter.
