3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dogbrick (4842) - Columbus, USA - JAN 15, 2012
Sample at Twenty Tap in Indianapolis. The beer is a clear copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Short stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and pine. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, citrus and earthy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a resiny hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Draft at Rich O's. Clear yellow, white foam head. Aroma is sweet, big hop aroma, citrus, cotton candy. Flavor is clean, grape fruit, very bitter.

Holy crap. Talk about getting punched in the face with hops. Super dank, definitely over the top. Super bitter flavor. This needs more sweetness and a higher ABV, it’s basically a double IPA without the alcohol and body. I love the Winter Cycle, which is the DIPA version, but this I just couldn’t get into. I admire the effort, but not for me, sorry.

Pours a golden amber with a small white head. The aroma is pleasant, hoppy, floral, and fruity with notes of citrus and orange. The taste is hoppy, fruity, and very bitter with a nice malt backbone. This is an nice beer.

Draft. Pours orange with a white head, good retention/some lace. Floral, citrus hops, biscuit, caramel malt. Taste is moderately bitter, tangerine, floral hops, light caramel malt sweetness. Palate is soft, oily, somewhat dry, bitter finish. Good.

Big ups to my man Josh for sending a growler of this my way. Nice medium orange pour with an initial fizz and fluff, gone too soon. Nose is dry and fragrant, with a touch of bubblegum mixed with leaves. Mouthfeel is pleasant, not at all slick but both fulsome and dry in equal measure. Flavor is hugely fruity, but always, always backed by pungent bitters. Nice stuff.

Pours a clean orange brown with off white head. This beer is a hop bomb! I think I would have enjoyed this beer more if the hop profile had been a little less all over the place. Piney, flora, citric, earthy. It was very good but it had my taste buds spinning by the end!

Growler thanks to Brian. Opened right after he dropped it off. Bitter and hoppy. Nice nose. Lots of alpha hops here. Some tropical fruit. Sorry we didn’t share this. We’ll share something next time.

Thanks to pantanap (Kan) for the growler, shared with my gf. Clear amber gold with a one finger off-white head, fading to a thick film that stayed for a little while. Pine hops dominate the nose, with some tropical and lightly floral hops behind. Nice dry hops! Just a little caramel sweetness to back it up. Flavor is a little more resiny, but still has a fair amount of aforementioned tropical notes. I like that the caramel sweetness is staying pretty light. Dry finish, substantial bitterness peaking at a 7-8, which would usually annoy me, but there’s enough flavor/aroma/dry hopping to keep me happy--lost a point on the overall for that. Light smooth carbonation with a light to medium body. Pretty good--I expected nothing less from Kan! :-)

Growler shared by a friend. Pours clear amber with a medium off-white head. Floral and malty nose with grassy hop notes. Malty and caramelly flavor with floral and grassy hops before a semi-sweet finish.

16oz pour consumed at the source... Pours a somewhat cloudy copper penny hued consistency. A thin soapy white head rests on top... Crisp and dank citrusy nose with a touch of tropical fruitiness on the backend. Fresh and solid... Flavors follow suit almost to a tee with a dank fresh citrus hop influence. Big bitterness with a morethan adequate dryness that finishes things off. Just shy of medium bodied with a semi-lively carbonation. Pretty impressed by this one actually.
