As seen at Flat 12! Malty and rich. Hints of chocolate and the nice roasty finish of coffee complement a milk-sugar sweetness that gives body and a full mouthfeel.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Andy by way of trade, 11.6.14

Aroma: The aroma is clean and malty, roast, lactose, fairly light aroma overall
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head and light, drippy lacework
Flavor: The flavor is clean and malty too, not super sweet, but pretty malty, with a mild bitterness
Palate: The body is fairly light, leaning medium’s way, soft carbonation, and a light dry finish
Overall Impression: I found this to be a solid example of the style. The aroma and flavor are both on the lighter side, but both are still solid. The lightness of the body works nicely actually, and the smoothness add to the drinkability. Pretty solid stuff.

Bottle. Deep brown body. Short, frothy tan head. Aroma of cocoa powder, chocolate nubs, roasted malt, vanilla, coffee. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Chocolate and cocoa dominate the taste which also has notes of vanilla. The finish displays some roasted malt bitterness.

Draft--black with a small, tan head. I imagine the head was larger before it made to my table. Mocha coffee aroma with a hint of chocolate. Taste was more to the burnt coffee flavor, but the beer was thin and milky smooth. Never heard of the beer or the brewer before this and I happily surprised.

Pours a dark brown body with a rim of tan froth for a head. Rich nose of coffee beans and toffee. Flavors of soy sauce, more coffee, subtle cookie and caramel. Maybe a bit of wood. Full bodied with soft carbonation. A bit lacking in the mouthfeel; I'd expect a tad more rounded creaminess for this style. This is definitely no Duck Rabbit Milk Stout, but a good brew nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brown color out of the bottle with a thin beige head and an oddly chalky nose. Some lactic sweetness in the flavor but I also got a lot of burnt grains and some stale coffee in the finish. Not great.

A dark brown to black color with a ruby hue. The aroma is like chocolate milk with a hint of coffee. The flavor is bitter sweet. Some milk chocolate and dark chocolate in there. The aftertaste is rather sweet. Overall a good beer.

Rated on 4-09-2011 at Flat 12. This draft beer pours a small tan head and has an opaque dark brown body and an ample amount of lacing. The aroma is roasted dark malt and coffee. The taste is quite simple - dark roasted malt, coffee and a suggestion of chocolate. The mouthfeel is lightly tingly and this beer is medium bodied. This is a very quaffable beer that is worth trying and a beer I would drink again.

12 ounce bottle at Black Market. Big black pour with little carbonation. Chocolate and almost porter like. Thin in body.

2/28/14. On tap at the Louisville Beer Store. Black pour with a nice tan head, lasts for awhile and laces well. Toasty aroma, nutty, mild roasted malts, some dark chocolate and coffee. Good flavor, mild roasted malts, dark and milk chocolates, some coffee. Slick mouthfeel. Not bad.

Most milk stouts I’ve had go for a really smooth drinking experience, this one was just way too harsh on the burnt toast flavor. It lingers forever too, I finished one like 10 minutes ago and still feel like I ate something heavily charred.
