355mL thanks to tastybeer! Much better label artwork on this one. Pours clear deep red. Doesnít really want to produce a sizeable head. Bubbles remain. Nose is muted, milk chocolate, heavy cream, pretty nice. Taste is mega earth, soil, lemon, tart. Thin, tart. Perhaps some sort of bitter chocolate and cream in there. Not my favorite, but drinkable. After warming up, next pour gives it a better head with better retention. Taste gets a little richer, lemon tartness goes away and so does the earth/soil harshness. Palate gets pretty spot on. Nice! Let it warm up.

2/28/14. On tap at the Louisville Beer Store. Black pour with a nice tan head, lasts for awhile and laces well. Toasty aroma, nutty, mild roasted malts, some dark chocolate and coffee. Good flavor, mild roasted malts, dark and milk chocolates, some coffee. Slick mouthfeel. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled on tap at the brewery (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a murky blackish hue, some lighter brown edges with small frothy tannish head laces small. Aromas are touches of sweet lactose sugars, light roasted malts, a touch of cocoa, vanilla, irish soda bread, and some sweeter toffee, coffee grounds, coffee and cream. Initial is medium bodied, preaching sweeter coffee and cream, roasted barley, soda bread, vanilla cream, light cocoa, coffee grounds, some toffee, biscuits. Sweeter slanted, vanilla and cream cut into the roasted malts, a bit heavy, but tasty. An ok sweet stout, a bit heavy on the milky sugar for me as it covers up most of the roast. But thatís personal preference. Pretty sweet overall, but thatís how some people roll in their Milk Stout preferences. It reminds me of Dunk-a-Roos frosting from my youth. Itís a good beer, just more for a sweet minded drinker

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a lighter cola with thin lacing thatís somewhere between off-white and light beige. Smells f dark malt and dark chocolate. Tastes like it smells with some roast as well. Solid on the palate. Enjoyable.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
This draft brew from a beer festival poured a head of frothy medium sized bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a semi-opaque dark ruby red brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of roasted malt and brown malt. Not one that I would likely drink again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rated on 4-09-2011 at Flat 12. This draft beer pours a small tan head and has an opaque dark brown body and an ample amount of lacing. The aroma is roasted dark malt and coffee. The taste is quite simple - dark roasted malt, coffee and a suggestion of chocolate. The mouthfeel is lightly tingly and this beer is medium bodied. This is a very quaffable beer that is worth trying and a beer I would drink again.

On tap at End of the Line, Indy. Almost totally black pour, with some faint carbonation and a heavy-ass looking head. Nose of straight chocolate malts and lacto additions, which I reckon is as it should be. Body was heavy and creamy, just shy of too much so. But I canít complain about something thatís done well to style. Slight notes of bitter hops to balance in the taste. Solid.
