Black with a tall tan head. Lovely roasted malt and coffee notes up front followed by earth and a hint of fruit. Full flavored. Hearty and delicious porter.

Black pour from draft at flat 12. Cocoa and dry. Coffee. Malts and slight hops. Pretty tasty

Tap. A really nice porter. Dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is notes of chocolate and coffee with a whiff of fruit. Taste is chocolate rum cake. Nice.

So I was walking down the beer aisle at Kroger and saw this as a part of the BYO 6-packs. I reached out for it and five others. The mind wants what the mind wants. This habit of rating beers has got a hold on me. Coffee nose. It’s a porter, folks.

12 ounce brought back from my wife who got it from Indy marathon. Black pour with big notes of chocolate. A bit creamy. Nice.

Pours a deep brown with a tan head. Aroma of light coffee and dark chocolate. Taste of smokey chocolate. Not bad but nothing special.

Bottle pour dark brown almost opaque with thick tan head. Nose milk chocolate, light roast, hint of dark fruit. Taste similar to the nose with more roasted bitterness. A little more coffee and roast in the flavor. Lighter roasted finish.

Pours black. Thick, foamy, tan head. Nose is malty. Taste - a bit bitter. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Decent brew. Not a favorite porter.

Poured from a 12-oz bottle into a pint glass (a North Coast Old Rasputin glass with a slight bell), at approximately 50 degrees F.
A: Pours very dark brown one can see hints of light through, colored similar to a medium roast coffee. Thick light tan head of tight, tiny bubbles, leaves a good amount of tiny-bubble lacing on the glass.
S: Yeast, thick yeast, and bread. There are some faint hints of dark chocolate, and something that reminds me of walnut - not the actual nut, but the wet green-black husk that surrounds one as it falls from the tree.
T: As promised by the nose, bread, hardtack biscuit, and yeast at the fore, with a bitterness reminiscent of a plain black dark roast coffee. Some nuttiness lingers on after the finish, with some faint echoes of toffee and cocoa.
M: Full and smooth, like silk folded thick gliding through the mouth. The feel stays strong to the end, rather than going a bit watery as many porters do.
O: A nice, sessionable porter, rich and heavy on malt flavors. Would repeat, unless an Ed Fitz or better was available.
