3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 13, 2014 Found this at RBWG, which is good for the brewery as the bottle I tried was terrible. This one was a growler. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, nuts, chocolate, mild hops. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, mild hops. Medium bodied. 8/3/8/3/16.
Previous rating (6/2/5/3/8)... 12 ounce bottle from a trade. Pours a.... OK now half the beerís on the floor and I have a glass full of foam. The worst gusher Iíve seen in quite some time, but that doesnít mean it wonít be good. Just ask De Dolle. Iím going to let this one sit for a while.
OK... just poured the rest of the bottle down the drain because I got sick of dealing with it. Got maybe about 4 ounces in the glass. Aroma of chocolate, mild herbal notes and an ashy note. The taste is chocolate, mild roast, and a mild hop finish. Medium bodied. Not a bad beer, not a good experience.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle pours a dark brown, but 80% a beige head that takes a while to settle. Big clumps of foam settled on the side of my mug. I donít know how this one tasted very cold, because it took so long and so many small pours for the huge head to subside. Smell is of roasted malts and chocolate. Flavor is the same, with some notable fruitiness (raspberry?). Tastes sweet with a slighly nutty finish , Body is light to medium, but must be sipped. The main thing I noticed was the carbonation. Itís ironic that the label says Flat. If they could make this much less fizzy, it would be a very good Porter.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured a bomb, I hope the other 5 arenít this way. A beautiful dark chocolate aroma and black licorice hint comes through. Great taste but I think this needs to sit a bit and be revisited in a few months. The palate is great but again, with time, this would be awesome. With a little tweaking, this could be up there with Bells Expedition Stout

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very delicious porter with an authentic, old-school sourness. Smoothly roasted. Many other nuances as well, such as a mild chocolate sweetness, some snappy acidic zings, and some dark fruit notes (prune and fig mostly). And everything is layered wonderfully. Fantastic beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A tasty porter with nice flavors dominated by chocolate roast. Flavors are initially concentrated in the aftertaste, though this moves forward as the beer warms a bit. I swear I tasted a hint of raspberry in there...canít imagine what that would be from, but it stood out.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A little over carbonated. It poured a dark brown with a fairly robust head. A good chocolate nose was present. The taste was a nice blend of roasted malt and chocolate.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation dark ruby red brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The nice aroma was brown malt and chocolate. The overly carbonated mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong bubbly aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of chocolate and brown malt. I would like to try this one again with a properly carbonated sample. This one was just too overpoweringly carbonated to enjoy.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Omg this thing has carbonation issues. It acted like a live yeast Belgium beer. Any way u pour it you get 90% foam. Tried three different glasses. Everlasting brown foam. Coffee notes. If I could get my kids bubble baths to last like this I'd make millions.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour from a 12 oz bottle from a 6 pack from a Soupleys Liquors in Kokomo. Out of control head on both bottles sampled - just exploded as I poured it in the glass. Remarkably dense head - It stood a good half inch over the top of the glass for some time, till I finally wiped it flush with a butter knife. I was worried about bacterial infection but nothign tastes off - it is just way over carbonated. The glass settled down with the wonderful dense head collapsed into a creamy topping it looked quite nice - very dark, inky brew. Aroma of raosted malts, coffee, chocolate. Taste is sweet malts and dark fruit at the start transitioning to more deeply toasted malt and modest hops in the finish. Palate is average and not heavy, but still good mouthfeel and satisfying. I knocked a point off the overall for the outta controll head and wasting about a third of each bottle due to that, but aside from that flaw this is a really fine brew.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at GTMW. Poured clear medium-deep brown with a dense beige head. The aroma picked up sweet, toasty chocolate and black malts with fresh earthy accents.. very nice. The flavor found a lot of roasted black malt with lesser chocolate at the core.. vanilla and spicy, lightly bitter earth accented.. mighty tasty! Light-medium bodied with a perfect porter feel on the palate.. great balance.. I could drink this all day.
