1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Aroma: Grass, maybe a little herbal, white bread and a bit of caramel. Appearance: Light gold clear pour with a very foamy white head that settles into a bubbly skin. Flavor: Sharp, a little spicy/grassy, astringent even. Malts are really swallowed up quickly; very dry. Palate: Full body, tacky texture, lively carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Subpar and unpleasant. Not sure if this is old or new, since this brewer chooses not to date their bottles in any coherent way.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rated on 1-29-2011 at Brewers of Indiana Guild Winterfest (Indianapolis, IN). When poured, this beer has a small white head with a lengthy retention, pale yellow body, fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is malty, bready, wheat, and citrus. The taste is lightly bitter, malty, bready, and citrus hops. The mouth feel is fairly smooth and this beer is light-medium bodied. This is an easy drinking beer and a beer that is a nice session beer.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a very large sized head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated hazy yellow colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was malty and bready. The bubbly mild citrus mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish malty aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of mild citrus mild hops breads and malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

12 oz. bottle in trade with Fletche00. Light gold color, with a medium, bubbly, off-white head. Brilliant floral aroma up front (I’m getting some honeysuckle and rose petals), bubblegum, some phenol, and saaz hops. The flavor is sweet, lightly sour, and just a touch of bitterness. Light body, creamy, acidic, and just a little astringent. This is quite a nice, easy-drinking beer. Lovely floral aromas, and clean, refreshing taste.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 ounce bottle
Picked up relatively fresh at a local store as a single this is on par with other Flat 12 releases. It might not be the most exciting style but compared to similar regional golden ales it is interchangeable with many of them. If you want to support a local brewery you could do much worse.
Aroma / Appearance - A golden transparent base was bubbly with active carbonation. Minimal white head soon fell to almost nothing. Lemon zest, wheat, and a trace of grassy hops combine into something that is average and expected for the style.
Flavor / Palate - Chewy bitter 7UP tickles the tongue. A bite of hops brighten the palate before a transition that tries to be more flavorful than it actually is. If you have had a couple of golden ales that are average for the style then you’ve probably had this one. If you are a ticker grab one. If you just want to try the best then move on to Sun King and some other breweries.

12oz bottle, thanks to caterwaul. Mostly clear golden color... Made slightly hazy by lots of fine particles in the body. Thin white head, leaves plenty, thick lace. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish, medium body. Nice lemony citrus hop aroma, some biscuity malt. Moderate to stronger bitter taste, minimal sweet. A great example of the style. The craft beer scene needs more great golden ales, and this fills the niche nicely.
