tap at Brew Haven beer fest - Pours very dark brown. Vanilla really comes through in the aroma along with the expected roast malt. The flavor is of vanilla, chocolate malt, and -- maybe my notes (or my palate!) are confused here as I see no mention of barrel aging -- a trace of bourbon. It’s medium to full bodied and has a lingering roast finish. Very good.

sample at Bloomington brewfest. had 20+ beers that night and only a few stood out (interpret as I remembered them). this was one of them. the vanilla definitely stood out with notes of bourbon. Full bodied beer with fairly flat carbonation but great vanilla flavor, as advertised. Kind of sweet but being a beer fest, I didn’t mind the sticky sweetness. Overall, a good beer that is deserving of a try. Unfortunately, this is a specialty and not sure if it well be available for long.
