topherh (249), Kearney, Missouri, USA Jan 17, 2008 At the brewpub Poured a dark copper with an off white head. Hoppy aroma. Flavor was of citrus with some sweet malt in the background. Very balanced and easy to drink. drfabulous (622), Columbia, Missouri, USA Jan 9, 2008 First!
Hopefully, the Flat Branch folks can fill in the details here for commercial description, etc. Floral. Nice hops. Not exactly the hoppy beer I hoped for when I saw it on the menu tonight. Still, credit goes to Flat Branch for offering something new, as well as an IPA a bit hoppier than Katy Trail. xmarcnolanx (574), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA Nov 25, 2007 Very slight head rings the glass of this watery orange colored beer. Aroma is floral and slightly grainy.
Initial taste is grainy with a nice floral hop bite in the finish. Develops some breadth of body with a nice bitter hop finish and some presence of dryhopping. Decent bittering , but not really what I look for in an IPA with the heavyhanded malt profile. Drinkable and decent. Drnk_McDermott (1505), Park Forest, Illinois, USA Aug 7, 2007 Draft sampler, 8/4/07. Time to put this one on the ratings map: The beer menu specifically lists Whitbread Golding hops, which I’m pretty sure I’ve not had as the only hop at IPA level. Lighter in color than the average Brit IPA. The hop is there, though. Big and earthy, with a slight flourish of pine and citrus. Comes up with some substantial malts at the finish. PhillyBeer2112 (1800), Orange Park, Florida, USA Aug 13, 2006 Copperish gold. Aroma was faint, but of lightly perfumed hops. They were more citric (lemon zest) and grassy in the flavor. Finish was medium bitter. Malts were clean with just a touch of caramelization, although perhaps a touch of berries were there too.
