3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (4842) - Columbus, USA - DEC 6, 2008
Sample at the brewpub as Eds Favorite. The brew is a clear light amber color with a thin and foamy off-white head that diminishes slowly. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Earthy malt, caramel and hops in the nose. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, honey and hops. The finish is soft with a grassy hops and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sampled at the brew pub. Clear and copper with a thin layervof beige foam. A mix of european hops and American. They are mildly sulphur and citrus. An interesting mix that works. Rich malt adds plenty of sweetness tilting the balance. Fruity and sugary. A nice beer.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kartoffeln (40) - Kansas, USA - OCT 10, 2011
Dark golden color with thin white head. Aroma is fruity and citrusy hops. Flavor is well balanced from malt to hops. Not a lot of deep flavors or aromas there. Overall a solid IPA though.

It poured a dark copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was very hoppy. The flavor was of citrus, with some sweet malt in the background. My favorite brew at Flat Branch.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 theisti (2441) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - MAR 22, 2011
I had this as Ed’s Favorite IPA - not sure this perfectly fits the description, but its aliased. Nonic pint glass pour at the brewpub in Columbia, Missouri. Pour is a slight haze orange copper with an off white head. Aroma is leafy green dank hops, maybe some garlic mixed in. Taste is the dry bitter dank hops in front with a bit of light toasted malt and finishing with dry mineral. Really extraordinarily dry finish. Palate medium, unfiltered drying finish. Nice, bitter dry beer - a fresh dank IPA, which I like.

Opaque medium gold body with a bright white head. The nose is meaty with some oranages. There is also walnuts. The taste moldy old orange juice. There is a strange peanut finish. Notes of dry wood through out. Meh.

Tap at the restaurant. Poured a darker yellowish, orange color. Aroma was faint spruce, grass, and pine. Flavor was very well balanced. malts up front with a mild hop bitterness in the finish. Not your typical IPA but still very drinkable. Drank more like a pale ale, than IPA.

Pour is a copper with an average white head. Aroma is some eathy malt and a dash of the hops. Flavor is a sweet malt with caramel and grain. An ever so slight hops comes out toward the end. This is diffanatly an English style IPA with a bigger sweet malt profile.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 vyvvy (2920) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JUL 11, 2010
Sampled on draft at the brewpub - pours amber / orange with an off-white head. The aroma has sweetish malt with floral hops and is on the fruity side. Medium body with semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts with lightly toasted malt along with floral and piny hops. the finish has pine, grapefruit, earthy and spicy hops. Very nice, but a bit on the sweet side for my tastes on the style.

Ed’s IPA. Bright gold and a bit hazy. Nose is a bit funky with a nice citrusy hop flavor. Taste of citrus, ginger ale, moderate hops and a nice malt background. Good solid body with a nice finish. Good beer.
