COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A British-style Extra Special Bitter, (also called E.S.B.) full of hop bitterness and aroma. Rich floral and fruity aromas compliment this tank-conditioned ale. Served from a traditional British beer engine.

Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is all malts and not much else. Flavor is a very nice earthy malt with a little bitterness toward the end. This was very true to the style and my favorite of the 4 i had at Flat Branch.

Deep gold with white thin head. Lacked much aroma, but had decent bitter flavor balanced by a malty sweetness. Well balanced but could use more intense aroma

It poured a reddish color. The aroma was slightly hoppy. The flavor was mostly mild hops and a little malt. Not a bad ESB.

Medium gold amber colored brew topped with a bright white head. The nose is dusty toffee with some bread crust. The taste is fairly sweet with some caramel. There is also pancakes and a weird green wood finish.

Tasted at Flat Branch Brewery in Columbia, Missouri. Light to medium orange appearance. Orange-white head. Malty aroma and flavor served at room temperature.

Tap at the restaurant. Poured an amber color with a small white head that went rather quickly. Aroma was bread, floral and soap?, Flavor was sweet up front and bitter in the aftertaste. Decent but not their best.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub - pours copper / amber with an off-white head. The aroma is quite malty with cream and brown ale nuttiness. Medium / full body for the style. It is a bit rich feeling along with light carbonation. The taste begins with semi-sweet malt, nuttiness, a bit of nectar fruits and english yeastiness. The finish has some earthy hops and caramel. Decent EBS - very English.

On tap at the pub, perhaps even hand-pumped from a cask? Regardless, arrived with a beautiful light beige head that left amazing sheets of lace and lasted for a solid ten minutes (just as long as the beer!) atop the dark brown/orange brew. Aroma was primarily heavy malt with a bit of bright citrus and spice. Flavor was exceedingly malty with just a bit of hop presence -- incredibly tasty, but not all that bitter for an ESB. Velvety texture and a good balance made this an extremely easy-drinker with a great palate presence.
