What possesed them to make this beer. You can hardly get past the jalapeno nose to even drink it. Glad that they only gave me a sample, I don’t think that I could have gotten thru a whole pint.

Pours golden and clear. Aroma is interestting. I was expecting more fruity and hop aromas...all i am getting is spicy green chili. Flavor is odd...just spicy green chili...what the heck ! Is it just me or did someone put green chili’s in this beer ?

Pour from a growler brought back from Columbia by my pal Tim- thanks, Tim! Pours a cloudy, dull orange-gold with almost no head. Aroma shows a lot of vegetal, mildly spiced green chili pepper with some backing sweet malts. Flavor is really- and unexpectedly- well balanced, with mild chili peppers complemented by toasted and pale malts, and spicy hops. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a mildly spiced, malty mouthfeel. Lots of chili beers in MO to choose from, and this might be the best.

Kind of flat overall. Base beer seems kind of watery without much unique aroma or flavor. Chili flavor isnt great and doest add a lot to the base beer.

It poured a nice brownish color. The aroma was primarily chilis. The taste had a malty assault on the tongue, but jumps right into a strong chili taste. Nothing special.

Nonic draft at the brewpub in Columbia, Missouri. Pour is a slight golden orange with a minimal white head. Aroma is a bunch of pepper, fresh clean vegetable spice. It’s not super spicy pepper, just fresh vegetable pepper. That’s more or less the nose. The taste is less spicy than expected, just a nice clean beer with a crisp fresh pepper taste to it - more green pepper than spicy hot. The peppers carry the long finish, clean. Palate is medium bodied, lingering dry pepper. Nice pepper beer.

Tasted at Flat Branch Brewery in Columbia, Missouri. Quite light pale lager looking appearance. Huge spicy chili aroma. Nice malty flavor below the chili flavor. Pretty good chili beer.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub - this is probably the first chili beer I’ve liked. Pours light yellow with a small white head. The aroma has lots of green chili and light spice - not much of a ’beer’ presence on the aroma. The body is light with moderate carbonation and is quite refreshing. The taste has lots of green chili, but it is not offensive or overly spicy. A clean pale malt presence is there as well. There is a bit of spicy hops on the finish. Quite nice.

PPRBSG09. Pours a light golden with a fluffy white head- fades. Aroma is jalapeno green fruity pepper kick, corn DMS, light solvent, fruity sweet peppers with hints of spice and cold smoke. Flavor is corny, grits, fried okra, corn with DMS- peppery, green pickled jalapenos, toasted and smoked peppers- spicy yet somewhat drinkable in the finish. Ok.

Growler courtesy of drfabulous. Pours copper with a white head. Smells of peppers, caramel, earthy. Tastes of earth, peppers, spicy, some heat, but not overwhelming. Light, bitter finish. Enjoyable.
