COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed for those hot Missouri summers, this is a traditional German wheat beer that is easy to drink and a favorite of many. This beer has a light body made with 50% wheat malt. A contribution of the yeast is that typically it remains in suspension and adds to the beer's cloudiness. It also has slight aromas of bananas and cloves. German Styrian Goldings and Czech Saaz hops add a refreshing spicy light finish. 10 IBUs

Tap - Overall another tasty drink that has a little bit of class. Poured a cloudy gold with little bit of head. You can taste the yeast in it.

Tasted at Flat Branch Brewery in Columbia, Missouri. Hazy yellow-orange appearance. Sweet yeasty aroma. Incredibly malty. Tastes like a homebrew.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub - pours hazy yellow with a pillowy white head. The aroma has some cloves, lots of banana esters and some weird funk. Medium / fuller body for the style. The taste has lots of wheatiness and is drier than normal for the style. There is also some light ester with a bit of richness without the sweetness and some orange. The finish has lots of spice, wheat and a sharpness. Nice hefe that is very dry for the style.

Tap at Flat Branch on 5/14/2010. Okay for a session, but not a lot going on, missing the cloves and grass and that slight sweet of good hefeweizen.

Tasted 9/7/08. Draft from the brewpub. Sedimented and activated. Aromas of bananas and slightly sulphorous. Light to medium bodied with caramel and banana flavors. slight cookie note. Meh...

Draft sampler, no slice, 4 Aug. 07. Light cloudy yellow, with a clingy ring of foam. Big banana hefe smell, backed by lemon. Taste has all that, plus low spiciness. Light wheat and asters, too. Not my very favorite style, but I can judge when it’s been done nicely.

Light. Not entirely traditional German. Not banana enough for a true hefe. Still, an ok beer from our local pub.

Nice cloudy appearance with a strong aroma of yeasty esters. Not much banana, but satisfying. The flavor was lemony and spicy but not earthy. Nice lacing. Overall a decent hefeweizen.

Draught: This one pours a cloudy, somewhat lighter golden color. It was fairly cloudy, and had a small white head. There was a minimal amount of lacing. I was suprised at the aroma. With the normal wheat overtones, there were hints of citrus, banana and yeastiness. It was medium bodied, but had a fairly rich taste. It had a bit of a breadiness and spiciness to the taste, which weren’t expected in a hefe. It seemed somewhat leaning towards a tripel. This was a good brew.

Pours a murky gold, smells strong and yeasty. Sweet, yeasty flavor that is a little sour with citrus overtones. Pretty good Hefe.
