COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A big beer with a nice balance between malt and hops. Generous amounts of crystal and specialty malts along with 50 pounds of brown sugar contribute to the malty profile. Bitterness is 27 BU's with just a hint of Cascade hops in the finish. The ABV is 6.2%.

Pint from the brew pub. Pours a light transparent brown. Very mild malt aroma. Flavor is rather weak and disappointing. Not what I would consider a strong ale. More like a very mild brown. I think that the brown sugar added alcohol and made the beer thin.

Hmm. Missouri brethren, help me out here. I’m "first" too many times lately for Flat Branch brews. I’m starting another "first" listing because I don’t see this one here: the Strong Ale that was on the board tonight. I was excited to see this new listing, but not as excited when the tasting came. Not very aggressive. In fact, fairly tame. Lacks malts. Lacks rich tones many strong ales have.
