Pint from the brew pub. Pours a light transparent brown. Very mild malt aroma. Flavor is rather weak and disappointing. Not what I would consider a strong ale. More like a very mild brown. I think that the brown sugar added alcohol and made the beer thin.

Jan 9, 2008 Hmm. Missouri brethren, help me out here. I’m "first" too many times lately for Flat Branch brews. I’m starting another "first" listing because I don’t see this one here: the Strong Ale that was on the board tonight. I was excited to see this new listing, but not as excited when the tasting came. Not very aggressive. In fact, fairly tame. Lacks malts. Lacks rich tones many strong ales have.
