COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brew is our Baltic Porter with 20% of the base malt as rye malt. The roasted and dark malts tend to stand out a little more as the rye lightens the malt profile. A tasty dark brew for the Porter and dark beer fan. Hopping is low at 15 IBU’s, using UK Admiral hops for bittering only. Ringwood yeast was used for fermentation. The ABV is 5.1%.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours nearly black with just a wisp of a beige head. The nose is of rich chocolatey, toffee, roasty malt. On the thinner side of medium-bodied with a soft graininess, it finishes with a touch of drying spiciness (rye). The flavor is a pleasant blend of the same notes found on the nose with the addition of a light rye spiciness at the finish. This Is one of the best porters I’ve had from a brewpub. Very nice.

Very nice porter, especially the inclusion of rye. Pours dark brown with an off white head. Roasted character with a hint of spicyness at the end.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub - Pours brown / mahogany with a light tan head. The aroma has creaminess, roasted malt, vanilla and light spiciness from the rye. This is fairly full bodied with light sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with cream, vanilla, roastiness, light sweetness and some dark fruit. The finish brings out the rye, spice and some sweetness. Excellent porter.

On tap. Poured dark nearly black with a tan head. Aroma was roasted malt. Flavor is roasty malt, a bit of chocolate, with some lightly spicy notes. Silky smooth mouthfeel, easy to drink.
