COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Angry Planet is made with organic American 2-row, Cara- mel 60 and Munich malts and Cascade hops. An aroma of citrus and light toast. A nice flavorful punch of citrus hop is balanced by slight caramel sweetness and plays off on the hop bitterness.
Editor's note: This is an organic pale ale.

On tap at Acadia. Cloudy orange color...did they leave off the filter for this one?...little to no head on this pour. Aroma:soft citrus from plenty of hops. Lightly tart. Almost right for style, but a bit muted...I want it to leap out at me. Not the case. Orange rind and lemon peel in the taste. Very bright, but with a smack of bitterness. (I don’t have a lot of info on this one, it’s not on the Flat Earth website yet, and word from the distributor is that it’s Federally recognized as "organic" and that it’s "just tremendous." And further word on hops, malts, alc.%, etc. is left to our imagination and/or guesswork. ) Nice hoppy kick continues on the palate, citric sweet with a slight sour ( a little too sour, mayebe) twist. Medium bodied, plenty of texture, easy-drinking, but not too smooth, just enough tumble and tickle to keep this tongue happy. Well done, but not quite there yet. That little sour trickle at the end starts to really bug me, and doesn’t really help ensure total satisfaction. Almost my favorite Flat Earth brew, except for that. Perhaps later batches may reduce this flaw?

On tap at the Nook in St Paul, MN. Great malt flavors, but not as much hop as I’d like.

Originally reviewed: 9/30/09. Pours a dark rusty copper color with a big frothy ivory-colored head on top. Great retention; leaves gorgeous lacing all over the glass. Smells of breads, sweet syrup, sugar and molasses. Hmmm. Different than expected. The mouth is crisp and firm. Decent. The hops in this one are more of the earthy bitter sort, rather than the big citrus players. This is well-balanced as I’m getting a wallop of malts. There’s toffee all over this beer. Finishes very bready and mild. This was a very good APA, but I can’t believe this is organic! Very well-done, nice job, Flat Earth!

Very good, citrusy and flowery with a slightly bitter finish. Enough body yet easy to drink.

Pours a nice copper amber color with a 1/3 inch micro head. Very nice appearance. Smell is very hoppy which got my hopes up. Taste is surprisingly malty with earthly undertones. A unique pale ale that is not bad, just not what you think of when you picture the style.

22 oz. bottle via trade with tytoanderso - Pours a clear deep copper color with a 3/4 finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is fruity esters and pine hops. Flavor is lightly sweetened toasted malt, fruity esters, and pine and herbal hops. Nicely balanced. Medium body. A good beer. Thanks Tyler.

Growler @ Flat Earth. Dark orange appearance with a creamy head head. Grapefruit, citrusy hoppy nose. Slightly darkish pale malty flavor with a light citrusy grapefruit hoppy taste. Kind of a weird malty taste.

Draft on tap at Shamrocks (St Paul, MN). Pours a pours a deeper dark copper, reddish glow, with a decent offwhite head, laces ok. Aromas are some nice darker sweet malts, pale and bready malts, a touch of toffee. Some light grassy and floral hops, touches of sweet and dry. Initial is lighter bodied, a bit heavier on the palate than most, with crisp pale malts, a touch of caramel, toffee, toast. With some dry hopping, florals and grass, a touch of lemon rind, decent bitterness lingers on with fresh grass, light florals, and some lingering sweet breads, toast, and biscuits. A touch of sweeter toffee, a bit more malty than I love. A solid APA, a bit sweeter than preferred. An ok beer

A: The beer pours a pretty dark amber, almost copper, color with a khaki colored head. S: Lots of caramel on the nose with plenty of toffee to go along with it. A bit of bread and a shocking amount of alcohol for a 6% beer. At least there are some floral and earthy hops to try to save the beer. T: Quite bitter with a bit of tea and cough syrup flavors which just don’t make any sense and are not any good. Again, an emphasis on the malt as the flavor is heavy on the bread and toffee. A bit of grass and straw to it and maybe a touch of citrus peel. M: The body is medium and so is the carbonation. D: Not sure if this bottle was just old or what, because this beer was not good.
