Ughsmash (2615), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 2, 2008 Thanks to Bob for the bomber! Poured translucent medium orange with a towering cap of whitish head. The aroma picked up very dry bread, pale malts, and peppery spices.. decent with nothing great going on. The flavor had sticky honey and light fruity sweetness laced with dry spicy yeast.. finished with some tacky sweetness and a touch of raw alcohol. Medium-bodied and too carbonated on the palate.. I enjoyed the dry spices. This didn’t do much for me.
Rciesla (166), Brick City, New Jersey, USA May 14, 2008 Bottle at dark lord day. Aroma is belgian yeast, caramel, and sweet sugar. Flavor is fruity, spicy, and yeasty. decent. Trev (393), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA May 5, 2008 Bomber from Lakeville Liqour: Pours a copper/amber with a large bubbly head. Aroma is initially fruit, plum & apricot, underlying toasty caramel malt and candy sugar.
Flavour is a little light for my taste though not too light. Sweet malt and a light spicy hop presence. Very clean finish. BBB63 (3619), La Porte, Indiana, USA May 5, 2008 Bomber bottle from Tyler and served in my NB Worthy glass: Clean coppery amber hue with a fading head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of apricot and pear esters, candi sugar, doughy and caramel malts, classic Belgian yeast esters and a tad spicy. The taste starts with a twangy acidic fruit and surprisingly moderate hop bitterness over a layer of biscuity malt and some honey. The finish is mildly grassy and hop spiced with a hint of medicinal character. The mouth feel is sharp and a soft, almost too soft as it needed better carbonation IMO. Not too shabby and glad it was not as sweet as the nose let on, nice bitterness overall. IrishBoy (1904), Bakersfield, California, USA Apr 21, 2008 Bomber from tytoanderso! pours clear orange copper with a four finger head into my snifter; Nose is fruity, candi sugar sweet with some light Belgian spiciness; flavor has yeastiness, light spices, and hop bitterness with some light fruit notes; finish is light pepperi spices with some lingering hop bitterness.
