4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerKurve (219) - - OCT 3, 2012
Dark Golden with a cloudy appearance. The flavor boasts a strong, rich lineup of Bananas, Cloves, Caramel, Barley, Rye, Yeasts, and Floral Hops. The body comes off as a bit too watery for this style of beer, but it’s still quite drinkable and mildy crisp thanks to the carbonation. I’ll just close by saying that it’s beers like these that have very limited distribution that make me glad I made the move back to Minnesota.

Bottle via a trade. Pours with a very minimal, fading white head. Hazed golden hued body. Aromas show a nice yeast character, musty, earthy, pear, mild phenols of clove, black pepper and allspice. Flavors are peppery, mild phenol, clove, spice, lively, dry with a slight grainy malt character. Lively bubbles, dry, grainy and bready. Medium, alcohol. Very decent.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Guerde (1074) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - SEP 21, 2011
(bottle) Pours a clear light gold with a very thin white head. Aroma of banana, pale malt, honey butter spread over toast, pears, must, and a subdued floral element. Pretty good, it just needs to warm up a bit before the scents emerge. The flavor possesses plenty of banana, pale malt sweetness, slight butter, allspice, and a lingering stale bread crust finish coupled with a moderate bitterness. Little heat shows up here, but it’s not intrusive. I believe this is the only Flat Earth beer I’ve had that wasn’t carbonated to high hell, so I must give the palate a 4 for breaking that trend. Overall this is a decent beer, but the high asking price will not prompt a repeat purchase.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Abio (1334) - Waasland, BELGIUM - MAY 14, 2011
Golden coloured, a to small head. Sweet honey, malty, spiced, citrus, caramel. A bit to sweet, a bit sirupy, I would like some harder carbonation. But no bad at all.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PotjeBier (960) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 8, 2011
Bomber from Cracked Kettle. Nice clear golden color, small white head. Aroma’s of sweet fruit, some alcohol, sweetbread. Flavor is rather sweet, especially for a triple, and there’s more sweet fruit. A very light bitter finish, and then there’s some honey as well. Not bad, but overall a bit too sweet for my liking.
