3.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BVery (2559) - Burnsville, USA - JAN 10, 2010
Cask at Groveland Tap. Very dark brown pour with a foamy light tan head. One of the best smelling beers I can recall - just like smores. Mouthfeel is a little thin, and the hops seem to interfere with the taste you anticipate after you smell it, but overall very solid.

Growler. Pours black with a thin light tan head. Aroma of lots of chocolate, some peanut butter, lots of graham cracker, and perhaps a hint of marshmallow if you’re searching for it. Flavor is very rich in chocolate, lots of sweet malty notes, sweet sugary marshmallow (the sweetness is a bit odd at first and almost seems artificial, until you realize it’s the marshmallow), and a hint of smores in the finish. Could be more intense smores-wise (especially the graham cracker notes, which are missing from the flavor), but overall it was pretty good.

Pretty thin body. Rich chocolate, slightly tangy malty flavor with some cocoa, vanilla, and light espresso.

Firkin Fest 2011. Almost like a mild, but this has the great palate that I expect from Flat Earth porters. Roasted grain in the flavor and aroma and no significant hops. Light chocolate. Very smooth palate. Black beer, low carbonation.

Pours deep brown/black with off white head, aroma is chocolate, marshmellow, and graham cracker...exactly like a s’more. Taste is awesome, nice creamy mouthfeel and it tastes like a liquid s’more. Not sure how they did it, but a great brew!

Growler pour from the brewery. Dark black pour, minimal carbonation and a slightly sweet chocolatey aroma. Flavor was intially biscuity on the start then bitter chocolate throughout and fininshed with and aftertaste of a tiny bit of smoke and marshmallow (no joke!). Very well balanced and not too sweet. Not sure how they did this one (flavor extracts maybe?), I asked and they said it was a "secret." Whatever they did, it works.
