3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep red-brown. Wispy mocha head. Nose smoke, charcoal, bit of coffee. Palate is a mite thin, not enough body. Flavor is quite smoky, sharp roasts. Faint chocolate, mostly coffee bitterness. Needs a better palate, just doesn’t have enough heft to stand up to the nice roastiness.

Flavor is of bittersweet chocolate, lightly roasted malt, and slight coffee notes. Finishes a bit dry with some hop notes. Not bad...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cola brown, light tan creamy head. Milk chocolate aromas warm to lighter notes of smoked coffee and vanilla. Toasty dark chocolate flavors balance on notes of roasted grains. Slight hop bitterness in the end brings the flavors together well. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry, bittersweet finish. Thanks for sharing, kmweaver!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours an intense dark brown with close to no head. Aroma is intense malts with undertones of rich coffee. Flavor is of cacao and dark chocolate mixed with malts. The body is medium light, but good for this beer. I really like this beer even if it unfortunately doesn’t get the attention it deserves.....

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bomber bottle. Flat Earth, the bastard child of the Twin Cities brewing community, overlooked by it’s overachieving brother Surly. The Flat Earth crew is putting out some solid, but not necessarily amazing beers. Just straight forward good beers. Dark brown color, foamy decent looking head. Aroma is roasted malts, a bit of spice. Flavor is milk chocolate, a bit of roasted malt, and mild coffee. Sweet and mild on the palate. Medium bodied. Pretty decent session porter here.
