Bright, slightly dirtied, faded orange with a slimming golden cast to its body. Small, thin capping of lightly yellowed firm froth that shares a few bigger bubbles in its mist of foam. Fades quickly to a thin collar and a thin wave or two of skinny fingered lacing. Aroma is clean and light with some light berryness and pear peels over some light grains and grasses. Semi smokey in a way with a yeasty doughy aspect of dryness. Taste is pretty good with a complexingly subtle tone and character that leads one subtle tone to another with one very easy glide of crystal malt-like smoothness. Smooth and clear upfront with a eager little berry essenced malt sweetness. Gradual yet quick snap to a doughy grained center of yeasty estered dryness comes in and balances out to a firm lofty finish of slight lemon zest, crunchy pretzeled bread edges, and some leftover yeasty stuff thats tenderly earthy like fresh picked mushrooms that have been washed in hard water. Feel is about medium with a bit of a thinnish front that is really the only partial compliant, as it makes up for it as it goes it gets a bigger body and growth of flavors and length as it snaps into place the rest of the way. Even though this has its complexities, I needed a bit more out of it other then the yeasty play that seems to be the main attirbute of the Flat Earth line thus far. Enough with the yeast alreay, give me some more malt and hops please. But, be that as it may, its a pretty solid brew that is fairly enjoyable for its bomber worth. Beyond that, it become tiresome?

On cask at Firkin Fest. Easy drinking and refreshing, this hit the spot on a hot afternoon. But only good for sessions.

One of my all time favorite beers. I was very sad to here this beer was being demoted to seasonal status. I hope they make this on again soon! One of the best Californian Commons around, and definitely the best one coming out of Minnesota.

22 oz. bomber. Pour is gold amber color with a big soapy head. Aroma is bitter malt and grass and or hay like scents. Taste is more dirty bitter malt and hops and some caramel too. Palate is gritty fizzy and chaulky feel.

Bomber. Pours a clear, copper amber with a tiny head. This beer smells like a really old IPA that has been sitting in someone’s fridge for a few years whose hop profile has faded to shit and turned into a malt bomb. The taste starts with caramel sweetness and leads into a bitter, astringent finish. Quite flabby. Not a lot of definition to the body. Yet another strike for Flat Earth.

From a bottle. Pour is clear, light amber with a small white head. Bland malty aroma of caramel. Caramel seems to linger throughout the flavor of the beer. Some soapiness and a super astringent finish. Very gross finish. If there is one positive about this beer it is that it could still be worse.

Bomber pours amber/copper with off white foamy head, good lacing small head sticks around until the end. Aroma is malty and earthy, with peanuts, hay, and yeast. Taste is similar to aroma, slightly floral aftertaste is a biter yeast and dough. Decent but not great better then the average lager, very drinkable good session beer.

22oz bomber. Filetered amber-tan color, nice frothy head. Bitter hop aroma among sweet, fruity malt. A pleasant soapy bitterness and a rich toasty malt body, some fruity amber malt undertones. Quality ingredients, but really pretty standard and mundane. Big and chewy for 5.5%, a respectable beer. The lager tones become more apparent as you sip on it. Good, but not exactly world class.

Poured into new belgium globe glass (only glass I had with at my buddies). Color is a copper/carmel brown. Light tan head that is VERY fluffy. Leaves some good lacing. The aroma is very citrus like. Some floral hops, while the malts are underrepresented. The taste is very smokey. Earthy hops and sweet carmel malts stand out the most. There is also a hint of raisins. Mouthfeel starts out bitter then gets very smooth. The alcohol becomes present here. Leaves a dry aftertaste. Great carbonation. Overall, this isn’t my typical style of beer. 22oz bottle. Poured a slightly hazy medium orange color. The head was tall, fluffy, and white with good retention and lacing. The nose was subdued overall. Smelled of pale malt, hay, confectioners sugar, and the most delicate hint of orange blossom. Light to medium bodied and sweet. Very effervescent with lots of prickly bubbles on the tongue similar to champagne levels. The sugars emerged toward the end as the effervescence dissipated. I tasted modest citrus (lemon and orange), pale malt, and a hint of grass. So so. Too much carbonation for style (from the bottle).

My first steam beer, I enjoyed it. I poured it into a pint glass and got a finger worth of white head that stuck a round a bit then faded to nothing. The body of the brew was clear copper in color. The aroma was hop forward with a light malt backbone. There is a slight bready yeast smell in here as well. The flavor is dry hoppy citric in nature with a good malt balance. The feel in my mouth was light and refreshing with great carbonation. It was real easy to drink. I could have finished a few more glasses of this easy. I did like the style so I will try a few more but this one was a quite interesting brew. Serving type: bottle
