3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Strykzone (3133) - Wood River, USA - DEC 2, 2011
Sampled at the st. Louis ratebeer gathering. This is clear and coppery with an off white head. Fruit, and sticky hops with some flowers. Big bitterness hits hard and fast. It is a bit over done. Some fruit and caramel manages to peek out.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jmikolich (652) - Brunswick, Ohio, USA - MAY 24, 2012
22oz bottle from PortableParty, First whiff is good stuff, Simcoe hops abound, next smell fades a bit, taste is pretty dank hop wise, though not what i would describe as sticky, this bottle is starting to fade out as i was getting a bit of musty flavor on the finish, fresh this would be good stuff though.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 FURLYSURIOUS (199) - Orono, Minnesota, USA - APR 12, 2012
Pours a dark gold with consistent beading and two full fingers of thick dollops of slightly off-white head. Nose has grassy hops, some floral notes, some piney bits - not much in the way of anything citrus or fruity. The taste is pretty earthy, herbal. The bitterness is muddied up in there. Not my favorite offering from Flat Earth.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 emeinz (212) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 7, 2012
Bottle to glass. Dark copper pour with a white head. Heavy hop aroma with some pine and citrus. Solid IPA. Great price for a bomber at $4.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DasBierChef (951) - Lucan, Minnesota, USA - DEC 14, 2011
Pours a clear copper with massive white head.... definitely overcarbonated. Aroma is hoppy and floral. Flavor offers a malt backbone but with lots of hops too. Not a bad beer.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 phaleslu (3544) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 5, 2011
22 oz. bottle shared by jand1983 at the STL RB Gathering- thanks again, Doran! He brought this one back from a recent MN trip. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a small off-white head. This one is so earthy all the way through. Aroma of grassy, earthy hops, dry grains, and toast. Flavor of grass, grains, earth, and pine resin. Light-medium bodied, with a dry, bitter, resinous, earthy mouthfeel. Full disclosure, I sampled this right after Heady Topper. It didn’t stand a chance.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 seymour (786) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 3, 2011
Sampled at the Saint Louis Ratebeer Gathering in a tulip glass, thanks jandd1983! Poured a nice clear amber color, slight chill haze with moderate white foam, somewhat lasting with a little lace when swirled. A solid, true-to-style American IPA. Nice woodsy, earthy, citrusy hops: more in the aroma than flavor. Slightly elevated alcohol percentage added a little warmth. Tasty and accessible.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jandd1983 (938) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - DEC 3, 2011
Sampled at the St. Louis RB gathering. It poured a clear lemon orange color with a thin white head. The aroma was very hoppy, with a mix of some grapefruit and grass. The flavor was hops, earthy grass notes mixed with pine and contained quite a bit of carbonation.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 edognight (7) - st paul, Minnesota, USA - NOV 9, 2011 does not count
This is big bitter, baby! I don’t know if it is midwest thang, but we like our bitter! Smells a little sweet citrus and some bread. I feel it is a thin malt, but syrupy, with a high sugar content. Bitter is big up front mixed with a little sweet and malty. Bitter finish lasts, and lasts, almost a biting and piercing flavor. Surprisingly refreshing for a > than 110 IBU beer.
