COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ovni Ale has a substantial and complex malt profile with flavors of toffee and caramel and a restrained hop bitterness. The beer is very smooth and deceptive at 7.1% ABV. Brewed in the spring to get you through the summer. The high amount of carbonation keeps this beer light on the palette and refreshing.

Sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits weekly beer tasting. Pours a semi-clear dark copper amber with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a fine film and thin/bubbly ring. Aroma of toffee, caramel malt, some salt water taffy, and cream. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation, with flavors of toasted biscuity caramel malt, a touch of chocolate, figs and dark fruits. Finish has a nice toasted malt aftertaste that is quite enjoyable. Nicely done!

Serving glass: Poured from bomber into Tulip. Appearance: Dark reddish amber with moderate cream colored head and minor lacing. Aroma: Sweet toasted malts, caramel, cherry and light spice. Taste: Very rich toasted flavor with some notes of caramel, clove, light spicy hops and a very mild earthiness. Palate: Moderate carbonation, medium body, barely semi-dry finish. Overall: Nice, heavily toasted, Biere de Garde. My only gripe is that it should be a little drier. I originally had this a little over a year ago when it was several months old. That beer must have aged too swiftly because it was very sour. (I have seen other reviews note this). Strange thing though - I actually enjoyed that sour beer a little more than this true-to-style fresh one.

Dark brown color with a medium head. Light orange aroma along with bread. Big bread taste. Lots of dark malts, nuts. A bit cheesy on the finish. Alcohol not incredibly well hidden. Not too shabby.

500ml bottle split. Deep red-brown color. Oily, patchy head. Very sweet aroma. Lots of toffee and caramel flavors, as advertised. Some spicy hops balance it out. Sort of dances around the style, but doesn’t really have that rich doughiness you’d find in a French or Belgian example. A pretty good beer nonetheless, it grows on me with each sip. The alcohol never dominates, and helps round out the beer. Pretty good.

Bottled. Deep garnet body with a light khaki head. The aroma was dusty with fresh grain. There was also some old dried flowers and library books. The taste was lightly sweet kettle corn with some dusty hay notes. There was also a little bit of fall leaves. A solid and well made brew.

Bottle, pours a clear, copper-brown body with tan foam head. Aroma of malts, caramel, and a hint of flowers, maybe hops. Flavor is mostly malts, caramel, and sugar. There is also a tone of coffee bean or cocoa in the flavor. Smooth mouthfeel with a somewhat clean malty finish.

A dark, almost brown color with a heap of brownish head. Lots of toffee in the malty body with a faint fresh grain character with a little caramel. There was also an intriguingly refreshing (and light) flavor that I can’t identify, though it is somewhat reminiscent of milk chocolate. Tap @ Acadia

Clear, garnet-hued, smallish head, dunnish, plenty carbonated... Malt dominates the nose, flushes out rosy, fresh, fruity associations, some cherry, berry, grape...with grain below. Lovely stuff. Fills the mouth happily and spreads deliciousness. Well-rounded, malt infused, little hops, and just plain juicy. Tons of fruity flavor, not from hops, but malt and yeast. Most wine-like. Medium-bodied, with a terse grainy texture, leading into the finish, with remains malty, and ultimately dry. Urges further drinking. Very tasty ale. So similar, but superior to amber/red ales. Just the right indgedients went at work here. This is delicious. Loving it. Hope this is a hit for them! ...
