3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Swalden28 (2657) - McKinney, USA - MAR 22, 2009
Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a clear gold/orange with white head. Aroma of some citrus and malt. Flavor is pretty nice, some malt and citrus. Mouth feel is medium body and medium-high carbonation. Overall, not bad at all....I just have issues of seeing this as a barley wine...
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hamilton23 (454) - Alpine, California, USA - APR 1, 2012
Poured from 22oz bottle. Pours a rich copper color with lots of carbonation but very little head. Aroma is candied sugar and alcohol. There is some sweetness there, but not enough for my tastes. There is a touch of toffee. Decent beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pawola22 (2203) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 22, 2012
22oz bottle from mattyb83, thanks Matt! Pours a crystal clear, deeper golden colored body with a thin, frothy, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweet honey and caramel, floral hops, oranges, dried apricots, a light grass, and a touch of bread. Flavor is similar. Pretty sweet up front with some honey, toffee, and caramel. Gets a bit bready in the middle with some apricot fruits and citruses. Florals and a nice grass helps dry this with a moderate bitterness and some alcohol warmth. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a light-moderate, bubbly carbonation. Overall, a solid barley wine. A bit sweet up front, but it finishes nice and dry with a solid bitterness and no cloying sweetness. Not the most complex, but enjoyable.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 portableparty (1189) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JAN 18, 2012
Bottle to snifter. Pours clear amber with a foamy white head that slowly fades to a film. Aroma is grain English malt and some faint caramel. Taste is strong English style malt and caramel with a decent bitterness in the finish. Palate is full and a little thin (for style) with a creamy dry finish. I enjoyed this one even though it shows some unique characteristics. And the alcohol seems well balanced.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 nsquishee (372) - Richfield, Minnesota, USA - JAN 16, 2012
Had first at 2011 Winter Beer Dabbler and again now in Jan 2012 from a bomber. Very Belgian Triple-like aroma of sweet honey and dark fruit, followed by a stingy alcohol burn. Pours a very clear honey color with little head. Very sweet taste with a distinct tart/bitter finish. Rest this beast for a year or two and I bet the Warlock will have learned some new spells.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 EHopper (472) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 24, 2010
Warm but qek flavored (as far as I know qek is not a word, but that’s what my notes say. Even though I tasted this just two weeks ago, I have no memory of it which for me is strange. Must have not have been memorable, good or bad, in the slightest. I wonder if in some ways a bad beer that is memorable is better than an average one that is forgetable? At least I scribbled down the rating numbers.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 arminjewell (3108) - Parker, Colorado, USA - MAR 1, 2010
Rating for the style, this one poured clear gold/orange with white head, aroma is a bit lacking but sweetness comes through strongly. Taste is fruity and sugary, with some caramel and a sweet finish. The best part of this brew is that it is 10% and you can’t taste any of that, but the taste you are left with is a bit odd and not like most barleywines. A bit lacking overall, but a decent brew.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pastor (700) - Eliot, Maine, USA - FEB 20, 2010
A 09 bottle poured into a tulip glass it produced a finger worth of white head that went to a good lace. The body of the brew was a clear copper color.
It had some nice hop aroma with some good sweet fruits as well. Not a hint of the alcohol was in the nose at all. The flavor was what I expect from a barley wine lightly sweet caramel with some nice fruits thrown in for good measure. It had a medium feel in the mouth with light carbonation making for a great sipper.
I would grab this again if it was available.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
